This is not a good sign, even if it's only a quick temporary issue:

"This web page is parked for FREE, courtesty of GoDaddy.com"

Hm.

It was apparently an expired domain registration. Judging from a WHOIS (http://who.godaddy.com/WhoIs.aspx?domain=goifl.com&prog_id=godaddy) search, the IFL renewed the domain today through 2015.

Looks like an oversight. I don't think it was down for long as I checked it twice today and it was working fine both times.

While a simple oversight, it speaks volumes...

I don't agree, don't feel this "oversight" means anything. 25 teams and even though all may not be on the same page or in the Commissioners corner right now, the IFL isn't going anywhere, at least not until after the league meetings.

At this time of year money has to be tight at the league level, all leagues, not just the IFL and most likely not paying all bills until final deadlines. If they are hosted at GoDaddy I could also see how they might have missed renewal notices as GoDaddy sends out so much advertising its easy to just delete and not read. I found myself in that boat a couple of times with Go Daddy.

Not by itself, it doesn't. I've seen everything from expired credit cards to outdated email addresses to overactive spam filters that deleted reminders cause lapses in domain registration. It happens.

My business web site was down for 5 days last week because I paid the renewal fee 6 days before the cancellation date and they sat on it for 8 days.

It even happened to Microsoft some years ago, I believe back in the late 90s--they let microsoft.com lapse. Somebody else picked up the renewal tab for them and got his 15 minutes of Net fame.

I've never understood why we completely and totally react to minor website malfunctions.
