Interesting signing by the Newark Bears...lets hope Dukes takes advantage of the opportunity. Needless to say, the gentleman has been through some challenging circumstances. Props to the Bears and the Atlantic League for giving
Dukes a chance to get back to the major leagues...

Gentleman? The guy is a savage. He's nothing more than an animal who can play baseball. I don't even like the idea of him visiting my town. Have the Bears hired an armed guard to keep an eye on him like the Nats did?

I agree. Calling this guy a gentleman is way out of line. He had fights in the dugout with his manager and other players to the point where a security guard had to be posted in the dugout. He threatened to kill his wife and sent a photo of a handgun to her cell phone. He left messages on her phone saying he was going to kill her. He got a 17 year old foster child pregnant. Why do you think not one other MLB team picked him up? He's a powder keg waiting to explode. The only reason the Bears hired him was to improve their attendence. He'll fit in perfect with the other bad boys on that team (Everett and Spiezio).

The Bears will definitely be around after this season. Since Frank Boulton has taken it over this year, he will definitely not throw in the towel after only one season under his control. He took over Bridgeport last year and they are still around. Bridgeport's attendance is only averaging 465 more than Newark's at the All Star break.
