Used to be called the "Death Watch" but that's just too morbid

not likely to return in 2011
W Mich
Maryland
Austin (moving?)
Alaska
Sioux City (bob should move to the apfl, but I've heard this all before)

Questionable
Amarillo
Arkansas
Tuscon (announced but looks iffy now, at best)

potential Additions

Lehigh Valley
Oregon
Washington State
Idaho

Thoughts, commentary.. let's TRY to keep it to IFL teams, for now..

At this point I will be surprised if WM returns. Only way it even has a chance at happening, in my mind, is if the current ownership sells. I have heard they want to, but I don't think there is much interest.

All bob Scott does is talk, but year after year its back to business as usual for the Bandits. Your list pretty right on I think. Just hope Austin moves to an area where they can get it right, smaller area.

Another addition that will be announced soon is the Lehigh Valley in Pennsylvania. They will play at the Stabler Arena. They have been accepted by the owners and will be announcing plans in the next week or two.

Is it owned by the same people as the CIFL Outlawz and will they use the name Outlawz?

If I am an expansion owner, I wait to see how the outcome of the death watch death toll across the leagues.

Another factor to consider is that the IFL commissioner position will probably vacate in July. Benzio will probably slide back to just managing a team, like Richmond as an obvious example. Will be interesting to see who comes in to run the league, how aggressive they are in expansion/retraction/hostile take overs.

Tommy's strength is selling franchises which was Crows biggest weakness. Both men though were/are in in for themselves (ego) and not always making decisions that benefit the league. The IFL needs someone between Crow and Benezio, but someone who actually does put the league above their own ego.

I agree, a cross between the two would be nice.

"teams responsible for their own travel"

Nothing like kicking a dead horse (or franchise)

I'd like to see Toledo get off the fence and announce that they're joining the IFL. Don't think they want to take a stab at putting that market into the new AFL and I'm pretty sure the fans don't want to see them just wait and watch and sit out another year.

They're in a very good location to compete with both the Atlantic teams and the Central North Teams. Win / Win for them.

According to something I read on another site, they are looking to join the AFL:

http://news.cincinnati.com/article/20100703/SPT/7040355/1062/At-least-the-Commandos-have-won-a-championship

(OK, so the owner's not sure what league it is anymore)

Fourth. Rochester (quit before CIFL playoffs to join AIFA, then IFL), Saginaw (folded after the 2009 IFL season), and Chicago are the previous three.

well, that's IF you count Rochester as the 2007 CIFL champs..;-) which just to upset the people on OSC, I don't. :-)

It's good to give the Raiders rooters a hard time, but they have had their successes and that was one of them. I like to see the commitment to have a winning team they display, but like everyone else I get tired of their massive egos that crash and burn every year.

I would be excited to see Cinci jump on board. It would be great if Toledo would join, too. Hopefully that could cause some sort of redo with divisions, and get West Michigan out of the Atlantic East. Being the furthest-west team in that division was terrible for travel.
