Since the IBL is best minor league playing right now in Anerica, who are the top 5 players in the League, and who are 2 best teams? Does anyone have opinions?
I'll try to be as impartial as possible. Here are the POTW for the first ten weeks:
Week 10 was Trayvon Lathan of the Los Angeles Lightning who won
three games against the USA All Stars, somewhat easy games for
the Lightning but in these three wins, Lathan averaged 27.0
points, 13.33 rebounds and 4.33 assists.
Week 9 was Ryan Edwards of the Kankakee County Soldiers and
Nicholas Moore of the Olympia Reign. Edwards got two wins with
the Soldiers at the Los Angeles Lightning (upset victories).
Edwards had a game winning steal and lay-up to beat Los Angeles
in the first win and the next night and then Edwards poured in
49 points to secure a second win over Los Angeles. Edwards
averaged 34.0 points, 4.0 rebounds and 6.5 assists in the 2
victories. Nicholas Moore also got two victories- one at Tacoma
and the second win at Yamhill. Moore averaged 28.0 points,
12.0 rebounds and 4.5 assists over the 2 wins.
Week 8 was Trayvon Lathan of the Los Angeles Lightning who won
two games against the Arizona Red Rock Raptors and in doing so,
he put up 34.0 points, 9.5 rebounds and 4.5 assists over the two
wins. A co-player of the week was Everett Spencer whose Battle
Creek Knights team beat the Oregon Waves two games; Everett
averaged 30.0 points, 10.0 rebounds and 5.5 assists over those
two games.
Week 7 was Jacob Stevenson and Curtis Nash of the Bellingham
Slam and Yamhill Highflyers respectively. Bellingham beat the
BC Titans two times over the weekend and Jacob put up 23.5,
11.0 rebounds and 9.0 assists in the 2 games. Curtis Nash's
Yamhill team won games against the Central Oregon Hotshots,
the Vancouver Volcanoes and the USA All Stars and in doing so,
he put up 28.67 points, 6.33 rebounds and 3.0 assists over the
three games.
Week 6 was Andre Murray of the Vancouver Volcanoes who won two
games against the Yamhill Highflyers and the Central Oregon
Hotshots and in doing so- he put up 33.0 points per game, 5.0
rebounds and 9.0 assists over those two wins.
Week 5 was Virgil Mathews of the Olympia Reign who won two games
against the USA All Stars but in doing so, he put up
28.0 points, 7.0 rebounds and 8.5 assists.
Week 4 was Jacob Stevenson of the Bellingham Slam. Jacob
Stevenson scored 36 points, had 10 assists and grabbed 5 rebounds
in an April 23rd win over the Vancouver Volcanoes. Stevenson
has performed consistently well in all aspects of the game in
this 2010 season so far; in fact, on the season, Stevenson is
averaging (after 3 games) 29.3 points, 7.3 assists and
7.3 rebounds per game.
Week 3 was point guard Nate Menefee of the Olympia Reign (for
the week/time period ending on April 18th, 2010). Point guard
Menefee averaged 29.0 points per game, 7.5 rebounds and 2.5
assists per game over his first two games in the IBL, but most
importantly, Menefee led his Olympia Reign team to a 2-0 start,
both wins considered major upsets at the time (over the Tacoma
Tide and then the Bellingham Slam on back to back nights).
Menefee was a 2-time All American point guard from Evergreen
State University (near Olympia Washington). Menefee is
considered by many as one of the top talents not in the NBA
radar, but it is expected that he will be in that discussion
soon- "No doubt about it" says Olympia head coach Steve Smothers.
Week 2 was former NBA player- Kenny Satterfield of the Albany
Legends (for the week/time period ending on April 12th, 2010).
In three games that week, the Legends point guard averaged
over 22 ppg but most importantly, Satterfield led his team to
a 3-0 start. Satterfield collected his 2010 game high of
28 points on April 12 against the Battle Creek Knights. His
5+ assists per game and impressive double-double of 23 points
and 12 rebounds, during a Sunday game (second game of a three
game series with Battle Creek) and 51% shooting from field goal
range were instrumental in the Legend's 3-0 season start at
Albanys historic Washington Avenue Armory.
Week 1- Kendrick Cornelius of the USA All Stars was the IBL's
first ever player of the week. In two games, Kendrick scored 66
points; the first game, he scored 13 points but more impressively
in that game- his team- the USA All Stars won a game versus a
more regular IBL team, the- then 3-0 Holland Blast. The next
night, in a USA All Stars loss to Kankakee, Kendrick Cornelius
put up 53 points.
Note: Jacob Stevenson of the Bellingham Slam (15 games) is
averaging 29.0 points per game, 7.9 rebounds per game and
6.0 assists per game.
Also, Trayvon Lathan of LA is 4th in scoring, 5th in rebounds and 12th in assists.

I am sorry to say, but I really only care about the IBL, and its players. I am sure there are some good players in those other leagues, but the IBL is much more established.
Now, who is the front runner for league MVP in the IBL?
