I just had to start this, since the reality of Mark King's FLorida Flight is now a reality with them having won their first game(record 1-1) over Franklin in Tenn, 110-105. You have proved your critics wrong and those of us who supported your dream applaud you for your accomplishment! Congrats, Mark!

And you posted this in the PBL message board, in a league in which the Florida Flight does not participate... because ... why?

Thank you...sincerely, PSBF! In fact, thank you to all of you who opted for the "wait and see" approach with our franchise!

Everyone is encouraged to check out our webcast for the May 20th game against Gwinnett at: www.ustream.tv...search for Florida Flight games under live section. Game time is 7:30pm!

This is just the start...the vision for the Flight is large! As most of you know already, I always intended to make the Flight YOUR team! Unfortunately, for obvious reasons, I needed to retreat from posting (which I will again do after acknowledging this thread with appreciation and gratitude). There is so much knowledge to gather from these boards from past, present and future owners. I've filtered through it all, and am trying my very best to execute all that I felt was valuable. Hopefully, all of you can at least appreciate my effort.

For those that want a more intimate role with our team, we established a Flight Booster Club (www.flighthoops.com/boosters). It's a work in progress, but it's a medium we wanted to utilize so that fans (particularly fans from farther distances) can be a part of supporting our franchise. Suggestions on how to better the club are always encouraged and appreciated.

I'll end with this - please, by no means, read into this post as some kind of victory lap speech. Believe me...I know first hand how easy it is to throw congratulations out prematurely. We've successfully launched, but we have lots of organizational structure to put in place. This has been an immense amount of work, and there are tons of things to get better at. We can be better! We still have lots to learn! In my mind, we are as far away from perfect as can be imagined. We are, however, making a very strong effort at doing things the way they should be done, and I wanted to take time out and simply say thanks to all of you, from my supporters and my critics. You've all played an integral role in keeping me sharp, and I hope, if nothing else, I have showed everyone what a lot of hard work and passion can do. Again...not trying to present some victory speech...just trying to encourage others to pursue the things innately placed within you. In the long run, your quality of life will be enhanced!

Hope to see you all catching the webcast on Thursday (I cringe, thinking, "Watch...now something will go wrong and we won't have it streaming!"). Thanks again, PSBF and all of you who have expressed interest in the Florida Flight! Now...back to the bat cave!

Let me also congratulate you in getting off the ground. I was so hoping your team would meet my team (the one I root for), but at least you have a team now.

And by the way, I believe your retreat from the boards now that you're running a show is a mature move. Good luck to you in the future.

I originally posted this thread in PBL because I did not know where it belonged. Thanks for moving it, Paul. I just found this forum(I'm used to going to PBL).
btw, how many were at the Florida Flight game?
