It has to be a joke.

Not a whole lot of info considering the league is scheduled to begin play next weekend.

Looks a lot like wishful thinking, like a certain basketball league whose name I dare not speak... :)

Only one team gives enough information to verify... the Delmarva Bayriders' schedule does not appear on the event calendar of their alleged home building (Quillen Arena) and at least one "home" date is booked by another event at Quillen. The "exhibition" game in July between Delmarva and North Texas is on both teams' schedules, but is also not listed on the Quillen events calendar.

There isn't enough reliable information about the other teams to verify their existence.

The "league office" is a private residence in the Bon Air district of Richmond, VA.

This is hilarious actually. I just realized that the maryland Monsoon are calling Freestate Arena their home. Freestate arena is an indoor facility. Not an arena. You can not lay your own turf there, you can not hang goal posts (no room). It is primarily used as a soccer practice facility and playing field for kids. No real seating except for some bleechers.

Hilarious. The best part is, on this website, the have announced the PIFL2. This is most definitely a joke.

Oh, and this confusing gem: The PIFL is proud to announce the signing of the New York Empires and the Pennsylvania Prestige to its roster of member teams for 2010. PIFL officials have also contacted current AIFA team the Delmarva Bayriders a third year team that plays out of Delaware who were rumored to be searching for a league in 2010 and beyond. The Bayriders ownership seems extremely warm to the idea of our league. www.bayridersfootball.com

Looking at the Bayriders website, and their cheesy tagline, I am inclined to believe that the "PIFL" is the brainchild of the Bayriders.

I have been in contact with the Bayriders and this league is supposed to happen. They told me today they are playing the DC Federals on May 1.

The PIFL2 was voted down by the league and the league had to take over the Velocity at the beginning of March.

The league was suppose to be working on a new web site, the Bayriders are not sure why nothing has happened there.

This league seems around the same level as the IIFA which plays alot of it's games in indoor soccer facilities. Apparently not having all the lines on the field is not big of a deal.

The Bayriders are the only team I have been able to contact though, I didn't even receive a reply from the league, so this start up league is not without it's problems.

So is this a semi-pro indoor league? I sent the league an e-mail a week or so ago and never got a response. I wanted info on the Maryland Monsoon. I want to know who the owner and the coaches are to see if I know them. No contact information is available, and most listed teams do not have a website of their own. And the logos... oh my Lord!

Yes, I would say it is semi-pro.
As I said, the only people I can get a response from is the Bayriders. I have sent an e-mail to the Prestige, Federals and the league and not received a reply.

I would contact the Bayriders if you want any info, of course, they might not be able to answer your questions, but I think they will reply.

I tried to contact them as well to volunteer my time if it was semi-pro. I have not got any response.

I noticed that two of the PIFL teams, the Delmarva Bayriders and East Coast Executioners, are now listed as part of the Regional Indoor Football League [www.regionalindoorfootballleague.com]. The RIFL's North Georgia Bulldogs recently played a game against the Columbus (GA) Lions of the SIFL to fill in some gaps on the SIFL schedule.

I think of leagues like the PIFL, RIFL, IIFA, and APFL in the "regional semi-pro" category.

Also check out www.ballcharts.com/pifl for the Professional Indoor Football League Networks. I think this group broke away from the original RIFL that was at www.hometeamsonline.com/teams/regionalindoorfootball. This RIFL site has the link to the PIFL Network site.

Gentlemen, Gentlemen,
By my screen name, you know who I am. I am the Head Coach of the Delmarva Bayriders of the RIFL. If you have any questions regarding the status of the Bayriders, contact me personally. My e-mail address is listed and I will respond in a timely manner. I check my e-mail daily and usually respond quickly. Our season begins May 8th, when we visit the Maryland Monsoon. Our schedule is listed on the RIFL website. Again, any questions, contact me. If you do contact me, I would like you to let me know who you are besides your screen name. I will not answer any "anonymous" messages. I'm not into feeding into the "haters". Thank you.

Hey Coach

Congrats on the win yesterday.

Sounds like the team played a great game against the Federals.

Best of luck next week when you visit the Maryland Monsoon.

Go Bayriders!
