Would Scottsdale be reconsidered - Since the Dbacks and Rockies are finishing their last year in Tucson for Spring Training, a new complex is being built on an Indian Reservation in Scottsdale.

Whats wrong with the GBL working on a deal to put a Scottsdale team together for next year?

You've got the spark burning, but misplaced a bit.

There's absolutely no way an MLB team shares their spring training home with an indy team in the summer. The AZL Rookie League and general rehab games for A-MLB teams is based at the AZ spring training locales.

The GBL I believe started with franchises in Mesa and Surprise, AZ in 2005. Neither made it to 2006. So, GBL hasn't technically tried Scottsdale.

Scottsdale Stadium, the increasingly outdated spring training home of the SF Giants, would be the best bet to place a GBL team in the Phx area. The city owns the stadium and would welcome someone operating during the summer months.

I think the GBL needs to consider growth in Arizona. Easy travel to Orange County and St. George. Add a team in the ever growing and indy league hockey supporting town of Prescott, AZ and you've suddenly got a slew of Southwestern teams.

Always, I seem to want to end my posts with dreams of expansion cities for said leagues...for the GBL: ....Prescott, AZ...perhaps a 2nd team in Tucson utilizing the Kino Sports Complex (two teams in one city would definitely be an indy league stretch/first)...the inevitable return to San Diego...convincing the Yuba-Sutter Gold Sox to return to the professional ranks...Salt Lake City (natural rival for St. George?)...obviously, the GBL needs a 4th western Canadian team (can't believe it wasn't added this off-season)...rush a Palm Springs franchise for this coming year, let Starke sign a ruff and tumble squad and actually fill in for the open dates Tijuana is going to create!

and of course, the Starke Palm Springs edition would have Darrell Evans at the helm!
