I was hoping some of the old IFL fans on the board could help me. First I was reading about the "live punt" rule. What is this? I saw a picture of Casper's punter but how did the punt work? Could the ball be recovered and advanced by the punting team? Okay second what company made the IFL uniforms? Not the plain ones but the uniforms with the teams logo on the front of the jersey. They looked a little like some of the old CFL and World League teams. I'm just curious and any other info on the league would be greatly appreciated.

OK... Here are the Punting Rules written as per my 2000 IFL Yearbook..
Punting .. The Indoor Football League is proud to announce they are the first indoor league to allow punting. Following the same rules that apply to scrimmage kicks, balls that hit overhead objects (ie. scoreboard, banners, speakers, etc) will be placed at the 25 yard line. If the ball is kicked out of bounds on a fly, it will either be placed at the spot it was last snapped from or placed at the 25 yard line. If the ball hits in the field of play and then bounces over or touches one of the side boards, it belongs to the receiving team at that yard line. Should the ball be possessed in the end zone, it must be returned (run out of the end zone) or a rouge is scored and one point is awarded to the kicking team. This rule change gives the fan the opportunity to see the skills of our kickers as they try to pin the opposing team deep inside their own territory...

The official uniform supplier for the 2000 season was Bike.. Riddell was the official helmet supplier, and Rawlings was the official football supplier.

Hope this helps.

Thanks a bunch. I really appreciate it. It would be great if the UIF or APFL would allow that rule. What do you think?
