Yeh, I am glad this was the stand CS and the NIFL took.

Burn in hell!

From the NIFL website: "The NIFL announces the removal of the Daytona Beach Hawgs from the playoffs. The Hawgs were found to have played an ineligible player, Robert Bailey, in the game at Rome on June 25. This is in violation of NIFL rules, and cause for suspension of the team for the remainder of the 2005 season."

What?! Was he academically ineligible (college football reference as a joke)? I think the NIFL's front office is lying to us! What exactly constitutes an ineligible player? I bet you an ice cream sundae that Daytona is broke, and the league used the ineligible player story to smooth things over with the general public!

You suspend a team for that?! At the very worst it is ruled a forfeited game. Did the AFL suspend the Tampa Bay Storm from the playoffs too?

More lies and more lies.

New Jersey is gone. Lincoln is gone too for the year and has cancelled their last home game this weekend with Billings. Billings gets a forfeited win. Daytona Beach is gone too on a questionable issue. What exactly is an ineligible player? I thought the teams with the same owner had an agreement to send the better players to the playoff bound teams! LOL! What exactly is an ineligible player?!

This reminds me of the guy that fabricated some stories as the Iraqi Information Minister during the Iraqi Freedom War -- Muhammed Saeed al-Sahaf.

I really like the NIFL game design. It's the failure to have a round-robin system with all teams finishing the season that irritates me and takes the total enjoyment out of the picture. And that is all due to having teams in the league without sufficient funding from the start. The NIFL is the 2005 version of the World Football League of 1974.

Reminds me of a guy who invented weapons of mass destruction so he could start a war. But, we digress...

So, now you are ripping the league for following its own rules?

Each team must submit its roster each week. Active players often change from week to week. If Daytona didn't update their roster, then played an inactive player, then that player was inelligible.

The punishment doesn't fit the crime -- being banned from the playoffs. It's pretty excessive which makes me wonder if the front office is using this as a smoke screen for losing yet another team ceasing operations before their season is over -- New Jersey, Lincoln, and now Daytona Beach. Did the sheriff repossess Daytona's uniforms and equipment this past week?

The team should get fined and/or at its worse forfeit just that game.

Post the link that says a team shall be banned from the playoffs for violating this rule for a mishap of using an inactive/active player. If you find one I'd be shocked, but that doesn't make the punishment fit the crime.

I also find it strange the Robert Bailey issue isn't a forefront issue on the Warbirds message board. That should be the leading topic being discussed over any type of discussion on Dayton being in the playoffs.

I get ripped for saying Dayton should not host the Wednesday night game, yet when the announcement is made Dayton is headed to Fayetteville, there isn't a single message posted made in protest. All of the messages are happy go lucky with 100% satisfaction. Didn't I just post a message earlier in the week and got ripped for it?

The Warbird message board is a joke. The only people who post there are front office folks, coaches, players, and significant lieutenants (for lack of a better word) in the boosters club like yourself. You guys are brainwashed into accepting each and every decision made by NIFL commissioner. Afraid to get kicked out of the NIFL/boosters club for dissenting the commissioner's decisions? Are you guys under severe pressure/retaliation to refrain from discussing the truth? Sounds like it to me.

Daytona Beach is fined for breaking the rule? Yes, I can accept that.

Forfeited game? Kind of excessive but that may be appropriate for repeated behavior.

Kicked out of the playoffs? Unbelievable and unacceptable, if in fact that is the real reason they won't be participating.

Jamie don't be a moron!

The two players have played all season. Prior to the game the presiden of the NIFL via speaker phone ok'd for the two players to play.

C. Schiver isn't being punished for lying to the media on local events. Tony Pewonski and Centurion SPorts Management isn't being punished for bouncing bad check to venues and players, or not paying their players or coach, and the best not providing insurance for the players for the last 3 ball games.

You've giot these young men who are still learning about life, rights and wrongs and you have just told them it's their fault for being honorable and sticking by their word. The players stood by their contracts.

The NIFL as taught them a lesson!

Now you as a moderator shouldn't start the political bull ....
This isn't AOL.... But... Those WMD's were "invented" far before we went to war and by other politicians as well... Both sides of the isle..
It's just the one who went to war didn't take both sides of the issue...

As far as Champion of Steel's comment...
Not sure if there's ever been an American as delusional as the Iraqi Information Minister..... Even though I could probably come up with some..

Shouldn't the head coach know what's going on? A former Warbird player at that?

OK... LOL

I feel badly for the Daytona Beach fans... I just hope the new AIFL team can thrive despite the Hawgs and their failings...

I have only been in Wichita around 5 years... And people have posted about the attendance numbers here for various teams... Believe it or not.. There is almost too much to do here... BUT.. It's kind of hard to get a loyal following for a team that may or may not be here ... We had the IFL Warlords... then the AF2 Stealth.. and now on to the Aviators in the APFL..
I mean.. My Warlords T-Shirt isn't even faded yet..

I don't care.. I just like football period.. The indoor game helps with the NFL withdrawals... But.. Not everyone is so addicted to the game..

Good Luck Daytona Beach...
And hopefuly the other teams this owner is involved with will be Ok.. Dayton and Lakeland..

I'm just trying to contain my disdain for fans of other CSM teams -- yes, you Dayton and Lakeland people -- who are turning a blind eye to this because they have their own team. Stuff like this affects the whole sport.

Double D, after seeing the article in Dayton's paper I don't think they'll be able to turn an eye much longer.

That GM dirt bag Ruiz is to hold a press conference Tuesday to explain it. The NIFL, CS, Tony P., and CSM has a few day to create a lie. Just like the all did to suspend the Hawgs from the playoffs.

So you got screwed. Too bad, so sad.

Our turn may come... but in the meantime, what do you expect fans to do about it, Enquierer?

We are fans of a team, not fans of an owner.

You can delete my post from your board all you want Jaime.

And if you want to support an organization that doesn't pay its bills to its vendors, go right ahead.

Yeah, so much for some local businessman getting his deserved $15,000, we got a .500 football team to support!

Best of fortune to you and your family Jaime. Let us a gree to disagree here.
