There will be an announcement on Tuesday, February 16th that Hartford, CT will join the UFL for next season. Question: Will this be an expansion franchise or a transplanted Team? What I have gathered so far is that the California Redwoods will relocate from San Francisco to Sacramento and be rebranded; the Florida Tuskers will play next year in only Orlando due to the MLB Tampa Bay Rays selling their interest back to the league; The New York Sentinals maybe the franchise that will locate to Hartford or they may relocate to San Antonio which is to have a franchise; and Las Vegas will come back for another season. Any and all information is Welcome. Thanks.

Because of their short season, I would think they would want to keep an even number of teams. I would say 4 or 6 teams.

I would guess CA, FL, LV and Hartford play this season.

It's going be a six team 10 game schedule this season.

It's going be a six team 10 game schedule this season.

Then it has to be:

CA, FL, NY, LV, SA and Hartford

NY is moving to Hartford

So it will be CA, FL, LV, Hartford, San Antionio and maybe Salt Lake City or Omaha.

The buzz is Utah (Salt Lake City) will get a franchise.
6 teams - 10 game schedule.

First of all, if they are going to try to crawl back on their knees to Orlando after teasing the city in the supposed naming contest by first calling the team the "Orlando Tuskers" to the "Florida Tuskers," and with people responding that it probably meant the team was moving the first chance they get (which was exactly what happened), it would require a lot of gall.

Also, reading this story: http://uflaccess.com/michael-huyghue/is-the-2010-ufl-title-game-orlando-bound/ also requires gall for their Commissioner to now talk nice about their mayor after their stunt and claim it's the Commissioner's decision to put the title game in Orlando.

By the way, in case they missed it: The field at the Citrus Bowl is being replaced with artificial turf. After the national humiliation of watching bowl games on that garbage grass field, the City is hellbent on getting artificial turf there. They also have a high school team play on Fridays at the Citrus Bowl as well as some state high school football games. It is possible that garbage field cost Orlando being a host city in a future FIFA World Cup, that is, if the United States does win the overall bid.

That new artificial turf field is 1,000 times more important than a summer football league with zero loyalty (and NO local office) with maybe a title game drawing 10,000.

The UFL is in the process of having team offices. People are being interviewed for positions.

I just got word from Orlando officials. They haven't selected a turf company (I'm rooting for GeoTurf USA as it's a much cooler turf but wouldn't be surprised if they went "safe" with FieldTurf or AstroTurf). They want to have the turf installed by August which is before the UFL season. Again, Orlando is highly motivated to get artificial turf put in.
