The Phantoms were swept by the Admirals with the score on Sunday, 110-94. The turnout was 450 at Lake Michigan Catholic. LM is now. LM is now 7-5, the Phantoms are 6-3.

LM swept a Pittsburgh team that literally picked up guys on their way to the gym to play for them:

(from Saturday's game report)
http://www.heraldpalladium.com/articles/2010/01/31/sports/1167168.txt

Lake Michigan (6-5) defeated the Pittsburgh Phantoms 124-109 on Saturday night at Lake Michigan Catholic after the game was delayed for more than an hour because the Phantoms' bus took a detour to pick up players in Cleveland.
"I like what I saw from the Admirals, they are a good team," said Pittsburgh coach Rodney Webb. "This isn't my full squad, we had to pick up players not on our roster on the way here."

I saw that. It also seems like the Phantoms changed their head coach, the name sounds different. I have no idea what's going on with them. They host Tri-City on Wed.

Of the nine Phantoms listed in the box score from the 30th, five (Cummings, Kalambay, Kirkland, Pettus & Waajid) are listed on the Pittsburgh website, two (Mims & Harwell) are from the Cleveland Rockers, one (Owens) from the Akron Rise and one (Wells) is not listed on any roster.

Also, of the players on the Cleveland Travel Team, none seem to be from the Rockers, although at least one, Isaac Jefferson played for Columbus. Another, Lee Sims, could be LeeVal Sims, making it two.

This should be the motto for the entire league and all the teams therein.

Yes, turbo, I forgot that Cleveland's team folded. But apparently the new players were not able to help, we still lost. But I have to credit the Admiral for having a good team.

True, LM. I think we all know the league's history. But the Phantoms site has not been updated since before Akron folded. I also noticed that the Phantoms cheerleading pictures have disappeared

I know they're not your team, but maybe you could do some on the ground investigating. I know I plan to talk to the Sea Dawgs if I don't start seeing some information on the CBL soon. I'd hate to have to tell my granddaughter that the Sea Dawgs won't play this year. She's already missing them playing.

LM, the Phantoms were never a team. Sure they are 6-3, but there is no communication(imo). They don't promote or update their site. I don't know how many turn out, but I'm guessing not many. To move from one venue to another in mid-season? To me, the Xplosion were tops! The Phantoms are a distant second and the old Pittbulls were last.
If someone can bring the X back and put them in the PBL and promote properly we may have some decent Pro Basketball!
But if I can't get tickets, how can any other local fans?

So do I. They are a class organization.

looks like the playoffs will be LM, bluegrass, SE TX, and the bisons
wait, is SE TX still in the ABA or the ABL, or a separate Texas League?

The ABA playoffs will be whichever sucker Joe Newman can get to host the thing plus three to seven of whatever other teams extant when the season is over.

Don't have a clue about playoffs but at this time the SE Texas Mavericks appear to be cobbling a makeshift schedule. Because Kentucky Bisons and Bluegrass Stallions scratched their trips to Texas, Mavericks first brought and beat Dallas Generals and last night whipped Arlington (Dallas-Worth area) 145-99. The Mavs advertised Arlington as an ABA team but it's not listed as one by ABAlive and a Google search for info was fruitless. Oh, well, normalcy returns Saturday: the Mavs will host Houston Takers, who they've thrashed seven or eight time in the last two years. Who they'll face Feb. 8 as a sub for Bluegrass is a mystery.

It seems like the SETX MAVERICKS like to schedule games with Teams that make them look good and give them the Best Chance to Win !

Great Job SETX MAVERICKS !!!!!!
