What a thriller in Buffalo!! Great game. I will start off with the crowd, probably 700-900 somewhere in there, not too bad of a showing.
Anyways, onto the game. Both teams are small teams, a lot of run and gun and a lot of shooting. We had 10 and Manchester had 9, so all the players really had to step up. It was a back and forth game all game, but at times Manchester pulled away with small leads, but Buffalo kept chipping away. The last few minutes were very exciting, Buffalo got some stops, made some buckets and tied the game. Then Manchester had the ball with about 13 seconds left and turned it over, strong pressure defense by Buffalo. Then with about 5 seconds left, Buffalo's Andy Robinson dribbled down pulled up and sank a three ball with three defenders around him as the buzzer sounded. The place EXPLODED! It got real loud, everyone was going nuts, people even stormed the court LOL. The fans loved it, a great way to bring many new fans back, give them an ending like that. It was so great because we were down 6 or 7 with less than 2 minutes left, played some tough defense and came away with the win.
Let me say this though, Ian McCarthy has a great team put together, all 9 of his players are for real and can really play. If they had a little more depth and some size down low, they could be dangerous, they definately have the guards. Anthony Anderson does what he wants, hes so fast and explosive. His dribble moves are unbelievable. With 1 or 2 big men, Manchester would be tough to beat.
Anyways, good to be a Buffalo fan tonight, it was exciting. We are 2-5, not bad, better than last year. Hopefully we can get a few more. Still have a lot of work to do, and could upgrade the talent in some areas. But tonight, I'm not complaining, just happy for a win, and the exciting ending to a very tough game.
That's a pretty good turnout, tbaz1! Glad you had a good eveing! It sounds like fans there may be starting to believe!

Good win for the Stampede. It looks like it was a matchup of two teams heading in opposite directions.
Strange story out of the Buffalo:

Stampede 'jumped the gun' on announcement of Stokes signing

The Buffalo Stampede has made its share of gaffes on the basketball court during its brief history, but the second-year Premier Basketball League team made a huge off-court one Thursday.
The Stampede (2-5) sent out an inaccurate press release announcing the addition of former Turner-Carroll and Cincinnati Bearcats star Leonard Stokes without actually signing the former NBA Development League player to a contract. The two sides discussed the possibility of joining forces but Stokes never signed a contract.
"We may have jumped the gun a little bit," team owner Vince Lesh said Saturday night by phone before the Stampede's 114-111 win over Manchester at the Koessler Center.
Stokes didn't return a phone message from The Buffalo News.
Is the team open to issuing refunds to any disgruntled fans?
"If anybody said, "I'm here just to see [Stokes],' obviously it's not a problem," Lesh said.
Former UB standout Andy Robinson's three-pointer with 3 seconds left broke a 111-111 tie. He scored Buffalo's final 13 points and finished with 19.

Doubling your win total would mean you actually won a game last year. :D

Didn't buffalo win the first or second game of the season last year? Or am I imagining that?

Yes, we won our first game of the season last year and lost the next 19, probably should have one a few more, but we didn't.
As far as Leonard Stokes, he did not sign for his own personal interest and reasons off the court, the press release was premature before everything was official. It fell through last second. Leonard could still be apart of the team in the future if the situation is right for him. Antoine Sims is coming back, he wasn't able to be activated in time for last nights game. He will help the backcourt.
