It's official. The New Jersey Xtreme will not finish the season, per an NIFL statement on their website posted on June 16th.

This team played one home game in some nice big arena and thereafter made plans to play in some neighboring ice rink for the rest of their season.

I could own a team in this league. It's just like the no-money down real estate infomercial. Total debt financing.

I can see the infomercial now:
"Hi, I'm Carolyn Shriver. Have you ever dreamed of owning your own professional sports team. Now for most leagues, you have to have a net worth of millions of dollars before they will even talk to you. But here in the NIFL, you can own a team with no net worth and no money down. We'll show you how. You can own a franchise for just three easy payments of $39.95. Call 1-800-.........."

They need Mr. Pompeil from Ronco pushing these franchises on infomercials...

"Just set it and....FORGET IT!!"

More trouble in paradise. This team is already toast thanks to the AIFL locking in an arena deal for next year, not that the AIFL seems to be in the best state of affairs.
Add to the infomercials "Not only is no money down required, you don't even need to pay your employees. You may ask, 'How do we get away with this? WE DON'T KNOW!' You don't need business experience to run an NIFL franchise. All you need is the desire to lose the shirt off your back and to seriously turn off your fans."

And if you act right now, we'll send you the book "How to defuse an argument" absolutely free so you can postpone forever paying your creditors. The system works because your creditors become part owners of a team that is never viable (system is illegal in New Mexico, California and Alaska).
