To make it fair, are the Battle Creek Knights going to be on this list? (If they are, then it's CASE DISMISSED!)

think MLM is just pointing out there is negativity and shocking hard-sell style postings that could come from every league...i doubt anyone wants to take Joe's side but MLM seems to see some areas of the PBL that you just refuse to admit exist.

If Joe is down for the count, why didnt the PBL learn from him. I agree with MLM, take care of your own business first. A1 keeps saying that BC asked for more money. No they did not. They just wanted what the league said they were going to do. The league still has not paid the bus company in BC or the hotel. Should these people take the PBL to court, to recover there money. This is what bothers me still about the leadership of the PBL. Did Battle Creek not operate a fine team during the season, and up to the point where they got screwed? Yes they did from what I understand. If this is how you treat a team that left another league to come to yours, did things right, and that is how they were treated. Watch Manchester get the shaft again this year. There is no way they will win a Championship in this league. They will be gone soon too. Please, PBL concentrate on your league. You all have too may distractions.

We have not heard to much from NSF since the draft. Is he in camp somewhere? Miss your comments NSF.

It's not that A1 doesn't admit they exist. It's that 1) he mostly cares about the ABA, 2) thinks Battle Creek is far from the blameless innocent when it comes to money.

What pisses me off is that MLM and others seem to think that A1 is a PBL shill when he's been doing his ABA A1 thing for a long time.

You know, at some point Battle Creek and its supporters are going to have to say "We were screwed. Let's get on with life." No one outside of BCK fans gives a crap whether the PBL owes them more money and no one cares if the PBL is right in their spin that BCK got greedy. The fact of the matter is, it's time to get over it.

The Wilmington Sea Dawgs arguably also got screwed by the PBL. You don't see me and other Sea Dawg fans kvetching about it. the WSD have moved to a new league and any complaints about the PBL are moot.

And again, last but certainly not least, A1 is not the PBL. He's not Doyle. He's not the Doc. If you have a complaint about the PBL, take it to them. Sheesh.

Hey Juniper! Aren't you a Wilmington Sea Dawgs fan?!?

not so fast

Juniper, I have been busy with other things, but I am back.

I don't really have much too say anymore about the PBL, they don't have any teams near me in Chicago.

The ABA has the Steam, and they are as crooked as they come.

I don't really have any information about the judgment against the ABA, but if it puts this train wreck of a fake league too end, that will be great.

Why take someone to court, if you are doing the same thing?
They would contend that it is not the same thing.
They didn't take the ABA to court. Joe's old business partners did. The PBL just bought the right to enforce the judgement.
They hope to either capture a lot of money from Joe and the ABA or get the ABA license or get the ABA license revoked
Did the league owe Wilmington money too?
No. It looks like the league was going to make Wilmington pay for travel like Halifax as, with the demise of Augusta, Wilmington's close travel partners had dried up.

So as you see this has nothing to do with the Championship game, it has to do with taking care of your obligations.
The promise of funding came from the championship game and at this point is to casual observer just another part of the championship game complain-athon.

If BC were to get into a new league (as they have) they can forget about using the bus company or the hotel that have not been paid. So in a sense the PBL is still hurting an organization.
You know, if the PBL made the promises that have been alleged, then they should honor them, but ultimately the BCK's unpaid debts are on them. They could use those companies again if they paid the bill. I owe my creditors their monies whether or not my employer pays me.

But again, since A1 is not the PBL and this is not the PBL forum, this is entirely the wrong place to be having this discussion. And again, at this point, this discussion has been had several times.

Thanks Mr LightningMan. I have one last question. If A1 is not with the PBL how does he know so much inside news. I keep hearing that A1 and Chuck are not wilth the league. I see Chuck's name as part of the staff. Good for him. Why would you not want people to know you are part of the league. Is A1 a fan like we are?

I don't recall anyone saying Chuck wasn't affiliated with the league. He was their photographer last year, so it's not exactly a secret.

As to who A1 is, I don't know except this much: He is not Doyle or the Doc. This was confirmed when someone else accused him of being one or the other person and based on that someone called PBL headquarters and threatened in some way someone who worked there. He is someone who participated at one point in the ABA and was burned. Since that list is longer than both of my arms, that doesn't exactly narrow things down. There are a couple of people here who believe they know exactly who A1 is and have even dropped hints, but as I wouldn't know who the person is they're hinting at, it's meaningless to me.

As to how he has inside news, it's the same way that any reporter who is good at his craft has inside news: he gets information from insiders. He appears to have friends among the teams in the PBL and the ABA and gains access to things like conference calls and e-mails. Sometimes this information is corroborated by people like Preeths.

Come to think of it, I now think the Utica Wreckers would make a PERFECT addition to the PBL...

I do not think that A1 works for the PBL but it's clear that he knows people who do (or someone who works for one of the original PBL teams that is currently in the league) and they feed him info for their own benefit.

As for Chuck: he has been pretty clear about his employment by the PBL, not only did he never hide it but he came out with it when he was first hired, regularly posted the PBL weekly report and talked about being the author of it and mentioned often that he was being paid to be the PBL photographer.
