I could use some help as I have been asked to give my input on a team out here.

1. In which California city would that team be based?
2. Any arena lease yet?
3. When should we expect an official league announcement?

Given the AIFA footprint in the area, I would skip it. The travel bills would be killer.

Minor League man , I cant spill the beans yet , I do know the ownership group for the area is strong financially and have the now defunct (one of the few profitable) local arena football (RIP) teams managment involved.

That means it is either in Stockton, Bakersfield, or San Diego. My guess is Stockton, given how long Bakersfield and San Diego have been dormant.

Let's be careful with the SD word lest we get those SD fanatics back on here, who still hold a grudge against Wyoming for ducking them in the final days of the NIFL. Then again, let's get those San Diego fans back here. They were a hoot. (For those not familiar with recent history, the NIFL was falling apart and all the San Diego fans seemed to want was a post-season game with the Calvary for the championship of all that was left. Wyoming then joined the AIFA. San Diego was left with no place to go (I think the SD owners went into one of the IFL teams for a season, I'm thinking River City, then got bought out).

You guess incorrectly. There is a "San" in the city, but the second part is not "Diego." You'd want to check one of Diego's brothers, however. Perhaps Jose?

HP Pavilion is too big...
Could it be San Bernardino? San Luis Obispo? Maybe even the Cow Palace in San Francisco?

Don't know the arena, but it is San Jose. End of story. What else would you like to know?

So the AIFA knows the way to San Jose...
Hmmm...how would the Civic Auditorium do? Maybe the San Jose State Events Center?
(BTW, my choice for a team name would be the Silicon Valley Trojans. Goes with the AIFA's trend of common nicknames, also pays tribute to its history in the development of the computer-a Trojan horse is a really nasty program that pretends to help, but only causes problems and tries to make you charge lots of money-kinda how a football team is too.
And besides, the AIFA loves ending their team locale names with "Valley".)

Sorry to tell you this, but the Cavalry did not duck SD. Cavs had the tiebreaker, so the game was to be played in Casper. SD didn't want that apparently. So the Cavs went east to play the final game. SD chose to be left out.

You may be right, but those SD fans who were posting here would have none of it.

Well, I guess FBCat was right...Thing I'm wondering is, which arena will they play in (Civic Auditorium or San Jose State Events Center?)
(still crossing my fingers for the Slilcon Valley Trojans...)

I always thought of the Cow Palace to be in the San Francisco market...maybe they'd be the "Bay Area" so-and-sos?
Seriously, if they're playing at the Cow Palace, they should go by the San Francisco locale name. It's closer, and MUCH more recognizable!

Cougars would be my choice for the new team name, but the new owners would have the final say.
