Well the Aviators picked up a win...
91-6 over the Storm...
No.. It's not a typo...

I did read in the Wichita Eagle today that the Aviators players pay is tied to the attendance... Not sure "how"... But it did say they were paid $50 per player for each of the first two games...

But the Storm.. GEEZ...
I know it has been said before but the "pay to play" makes them no more than a rec team..

On another note... The Topeka Capitol-Journal said the Kansas Koyote-Nebraska Bear game was postponed due to "unfortunate accidents" by the Bears... The Omaha newspaper mentioned due to music concerts, labor day weekend, and the temps being in the 80's that the game would be postponed.... Whatever!.. Sounds like a forfeit is in order.

I do not know the score of Iowa-Missouri... Nothing on the Omaha site and the Sedalia, Missouri paper folks have long since been in bed and won't post anything online till tomorrow...

Bill, it was postponed due to two different critical accidents in the Bears team family, and one resulted in a fatality.

The game is to be rescheduled as far as I have heard.

That's not what was said in the media, so I am skeptical, like Bill is.

Though that doesn't undermine the fact that there were two tragedies in the Bears organization...if that were the real reason, that's probably what they'd of told the Omaha paper.

Well we shall see...

But then again.. Maybe not..

To be honest... I don't recall the online article in the Topeka paper even mentioning what the "accidents" were that had happened to the Bears organization.. I remember coming away thinking Nebraska had "accidently" forgotten to reserve the arena...

If indeed there were fatalities involved than I am truly sorry for my shooting from the hip... But then.. Why wasn't that in the Omaha paper?

Looks like I need to check through that paper a little more intently...

Ok all of those interested..
I rechecked the Omaha paper..
And still to this date.. This is all that came up on the Koyote-Bears game after my search.. The Topeka paper called them "unfortunate accidents"

Nebraska Bears Postponed Game
With a music concert, other league football games looming and predicted temperatures of 80 degrees and above this Memorial Day weekend, the Nebraska Bears postponed Saturday night's game against the Kansas Koyotes at the Mid-America Center in Council Bluffs.

Bears General Manager Julian Carter said no specific date has been set for the game.
