HOGS KICK OFF HOME SCHEDULE WITH TWO WINS

The Rockford IceHogs kicked off 11 straight game against division opponents with a 2-1-0-0 record in Week 3. The Hogs won in dramatic fashion on Saturday, scoring three unanswered goals and capping the victory with a nine-round shootout. Rockford’s only loss came on Wednesday at the hands of the Chicago Wolves at the Allstate Arena, where the Hogs are 2-7-2-0 all time.

Dowell chipped in two helpers on Friday in Rockford’s 4-1 win over the Chicago Wolves then a night later he tallied the primary assist on all three of the IceHogs goals in regulation during the team’s 4-3 come-from-behind victory over Peoria. The center also recorded a plus/minus rating of +4 for the week and he leads the IceHogs in points overall in 2009-10 with a goal and six assists through seven games.
