View Full Version : Steve McKenna in Australia

I noticed that Steve McKenna of the Penguins signed to play this summer in Australia. Does anyone know what level of hockey the AIHL is equivalent to? Does anyone think other locked out NHLers will go down under for the season or that this could create a trend of less skilled NHLers playing offseason hockey in Australia?

The AIHL is about the level of Canadian Jr.B or Tier II Jr. A.

I noticed that Steve is playing in Italy this season. I thought that league was more of a finese league. I would never of thought of seeing him go there to play!
