I'm not happy about this as I am a big proponent of spring and summer developmental league basketball. But just from looking at the IBL website they have the Grand Rapids Flight, Kankakee County Soliders, and the Southern Ill Truth as teams in the midwest. The Battle Creek Knights are listed as coming soon (so they probably haven't paid the piper... the commissioner).

Of course the Grand Rapids Flight announced they moved to the ABA. So in the midwest you have The Soliders and one exapnsion team active.

I'm by no means surprised by this as I've predicted it for awhile now. But I'm not happy about it.

I won't speculate how viable the IBL is in the northwest, but in the midwest the league is clearly not viable. The news on the website isn't getting updated, and the videos are old.

All I see on the website is limited news and very old content (pictures videos). They do post stats which is good.

I just hope somebody replaces the USBL, IBL, etc in the midwest because we need viable (sustainable) summer league basketball here. The wikipedia page on all the failed IBL franchises proves their methods certainly don't work in the Midwest.

I'm just hoping some league comes along and replaces them. The concepts from former IBL teams in the midwest are not very good. The GPBL looks to be flaming out before it gets started. The EBA is expanding to the midwest very slowly. The UBL seems to be run by individuals who can't manage to use the spell check for their website content (so how much can we really expect from them?).

I'm just not happy about the state of spring and summer basketball in the midwest. It sucks for the fans and the players looking for a league in the summer.

It would be good if the EBA stepped up, but I think they start too early. I really wish they'd push their league back to May.
