Ok Diablo, Serious question for you. Of all the Austin teams that you have been a fan of (Terminators, Knights, Rockers, Wranglers (AFL), Wranglers (AF2), Turfcats), which have been your favorite and least favorite to be a fan of and why?

Don't forget the Centex Barracudas of the Intense league. Granted they played in Belton, not Austin. But they were only 45 minutes away. Same head coach and OC of the T-cats and Rockers.

This is a tough question, it would definitely be between the AFL Wranglers and TurfCats.

The AFL Wranglers were the most talented, both their play and their opponents. It's always more enjoyable watching football at a higher level.

The af2 Wranglers were a lower calibre but I had already been a part of the family for 4 years so I was pretty close to the organization and enjoyed more access than most. Being friends with Doug MacGregor and going to Houston and watching several Copperhead games with him from the VIP area on the wall was very memorable.

The Turfcats being the team in town at the moment definitely makes them special - lol. Plus they had a great season and made the championsip game. Both the AFL and af2 Wranglers made the playoffs once and both lost in the 1st round.

I was definitely and insider with the players, coaches, and front office. Some came from the Wranglers and all became friends. Taking the trip to the championship game, riding the players bus, rooming with a front office guy (he was an old friend from the Wranglers) and spending the week being a part of the team was one of the most exciting experiences I've ever had as a fan. And my fandom goes way back to the 60's and I was one of the founding Directors of the Texas Capital Area Browns Backers Association and had access to some of their players and staff. I've got personal memorabilia from Bill Belichek and meeting Jim Brown was another high point of my past.

If you hold my feet to the fire and I must chose only one, it'll be the Turfcats.
They are truly family and some of the best people I've ever met in the sport.
One of my goals is to add a ball from every team to my collection, as they are all adorned with the home teams name and logo. I wanted a game ball from the championship game bad but there was a shortage. They only had 43 balls to start the game, by the 4th qtr they were using Texas Pirate balls because they had ran out.

Before the game I spoke with the `Bucs GM and a couple league officials about getting one and was told there wasn't enough. As the Turfcat players scored and intercepted balls they were keeping them and having them put in their lockers. As I was standing in the players bench area watching the game, one of the players came up to me and said I could have his. WOW, what a great piece of memorabila, an actual game ball from my first championship game.

This wasn't unusual, I was treated this way by all of the players, coaches, and front office. The TurfCats have given me some of my best football memories and definitely the most.

I still need a Houma and Acadiana ball if one is available:-D
