I just caught Game 2 of the best-of-3 championship between Oregon and LA. I have to say it was a well-played, physical, intense game throughout. Lots of trash talking and a some chippiness beginning in the 2nd qtr. Very entertaining...LA is clearly the more talented team, with 5 former NBAers and "should" easily handle Oregon in the decider on Tuesday night. Robert Day had a helluva game for the visiting team, hitting some down right ridiculous shots (that boy can play!)...however, no one else really stepped up so they were fortunate to get the win.

This series is all about pace...LA wants to get the score up, and Oregon know the only way they have a chance is to keep the score around 100. The small college gym was about 2/3 full (not sure how many tix were given away), and the crowd was into it. All in all, a good time and a good show.

LA Lakers won it all and now the LA Lightning win the IBL Championship.

Lightning strikes early en route to IBL title (http://www.lalightning.net/game23_recap.htm)

Congratulations to LA!

I felt bad for Oregon. They were simply way overmatched. LA basically got any shot they wanted all game, and were intent on not letting Robert Day hurt them this time (though he missed some wide open looks).

If LA brings back the same team next season, I don't see how things will play out any different. For fun, I'd like to see the Lightning take on the D-league champs...I think it'd be a close game, as LA may be old, but they can still play and knows what it takes to pull out wins in the closing moments.
