"Our goal now is to sell 1,000 season tickets and I think that's a mandatory number for us to gain admittance to the NBDL," says Chase. "I don't see any problem of us reaching it. There are more than 500,000 people in the Long Beach community. Surely, we can find 250 people willing to buy four season tickets?"
Good luck.

From what I read in that article, "good luck" is right. That town sounds tough.
This is why the NBDL should NOT fold any teams this season.
Frankly, I think they are targeting "AAA" level cities, like Kansas City, San Diego, St. Louis, etc. and eventually the original teams will either quietly go away or there will be a "NBDL2" about 10-15 years down the road. But the more teams there are, the easier it will be to expand.
In the meantime, however, ticket sales are important, it's just as important to line up corporate sponsors since you are planning 1 1/2 years ahead (smart move by the way).
