Congrats to the Altitude, and Joey Meyer. He has succeeded on every level of coaching, and hopefully the NBA is next.

Lets see if the NBDL championship curse will finally come true for Asheville. THey escaped last season, lets see if the "relocation" rumors are false.

They are selling season tickets already and announced their home opener for next season.

Heard those rumors, too. I think it has everything to do with whether or not Asheville caves on that hockey lease, keeping hockey there. The City would be idiots to cave in for a hockey team that broke it's lease on several occasions, provided zero of the promised upgrades to the building, etc. More people will watch the NBDL game on NBATV today at 4 than will watch hockey all season by several fold. Just my .02.

All of these teams that are owned by the NBDL needs a real marketing budget, especially with 4 new teams being added, maybe one more in Arkansas. Now with 10-11 teams, it's time to really push this league over the summer.

Maybe I was wrong...was at the Civic Center Commission meeting just now and one of the Commissioners was at the game and his impression was there was 10% odds they were coming back. (Hockey is almost certainly gone as well.)

But he could be wrong...

Well, a very reliable source just confirmed from the Altitude office that they will cease operations shortly.

I hope the City gives some sort of reception to honor the two-time champs. They deserve as such, at least they will leave Asheville on friendly terms.

I see the NBDL having ten teams next season.

Southeast Division
Florida
Roanoke
+ 3 others(Asheville, Huntsville will likely fold/relocate)

Mid-west Division
Arkansas
Tulsa
Austin
Fort Worth
Albuquerque

Word around is Huntsville was also shown the door today. No confirmation yet.

All the southeast teams will soon be gone.

Florida will/should relocate.

Think we should look to the CBA for the final nine NBDL teams?
