Wow, that sure was a close game between the 'Cats and the Hurricanes! Congratulations to the 'Cats for pulling out the win in the end and to the Hurricanes for making a good show for their newly named team!

Tooooo close for comfort - lol
Terry Williams (their new owner) is a great guy and serious about turning the franchise around. The first thing he does is give the coaches some leeway on signings and they bring in some good players.
Michael Bishop had only one practice with the team before the game and will only get better once he learns the system, how the WR run their routes and develops some timing with them. He had WR's wide open all night, luckily we got enough pressure so he couldn't locate them more often.
Spotting them a 3 TD lead to start the game was almost too much to overcome.
They are a much improved team from the first time we played them. After the game with the Mudbugs next week we have to play the Hurricanes twice in 5 days at their new venue. They'll have three home games in 6 days as they've also got to make up a game against the Crunch.
It was a poor night on officiating, hurting both teams.
Once again both teams came to the tailgate after the game and we all had a great time.

Is that official now? I haven't seen anything on the SIFL site or anywhere else about those two makeup games.

Didn't Dan give me permission to be the Official Authority on the OSC SIFL pages? - lol
While I can't label anything "Official", the Turfcats site has a revised schedule up listing the make up game for Tue 7/7 and the last orig sched game for them remains on Sat 7/11, also against the Hurricanes.

That leaves the only other game to be made up is the Hurricanes vs the Crunch. I'm not sure of that date but was told it would be in a 6 day window along with the final 2 Turfcat/Hurricane games.
Do to arena deals the playoffs can't be pushed back another week and must go on as originally scheduled.
Hey Dan and Robert, just keep in mind we're willing to push things back a week, you can always use our arena for the championship game if the other one isn't available.;)
I've also been told the Alamo Dome could be available cheap (possibly free) for a neutral site and help promote a new San Antonio team.

I am guessing the Crunch still want to win the championship in their own league and don't want to play a game a few days before this one.

The SIFL and the Hurricanes may have to schedule around that game, if they want the Crunch/Canes game played.
Maybe they will have to play it during the week after the second Austin game. Mayhaps Tuesday July 14/09.
This is all me just guessing though, I don't get much inside info in Canada.
On a side note: Michael Bishop played for the Saskatchewan Roughriders (CFL) in 2008.

I think it's already scheduled, I was told the Hurricanes will be playing 3 games in a 6 day span.

Didn't the NIFL used to do this? I hope the Hurricanes are paid up on their W/C premium. 3 games in 6 days is just begging for some serious injuries.

Yes, the NIFL did this and worse. I agree that the potential for injuries is a serious concern (something the SIFL has promoted itself on preventing and even cancelled a game over already). The better course of action would be to cancel that makeup game and have the league figure out another way to determine the last playoff team if that game is pivotal in deciding it. There's a reason football is played once a week in a game situation, it's a brutal game and the body needs to recover properly to avoid injury. It's bad enough when the teams have short weeks due to playing on a Thursday. 3 games in 6 days is not a good idea.
