Does anyone know what's going on with this team? My friend and I were going to go to a home game on Saturday if only curiousity. I got the tickets from Ticketmaster. Anyway, this afternoon I got an e-mail from them saying the game was cancelled.
Further research revealed that all home games were cancelled. The Meadowlands website is reporting that they are no longer playing there. For fun, I tried calling their offices and got voicemail telling me to leave a message and that they would call back.
Does anyone know or heard what's going on? My guess is that they have shut down operations. That would not be surprising since they were 0-5 and gotten killed in all of their games and were even shutout once!

I don't know the whole story as to why but this Saturday's game will be rescheduled and they will play out the rest of the season in Morristown.
There has been extensive discussion of this on the NIFL Fan Forum:

What are the chances that a smaller arena in NEW JERSEY is going to have a field to play on. If NEW JERSEY was evicted...they probably owe the arena money....do you think the arena is going to give them a field to play on.

How is the NIFL still around? It seems like every single season theres a couple of teams that turn into complete train wrecks. Last year there was the TIPS fiasco, then 9 of the league's teams bolted and formed their own league and now this.
I was kind of looking forward to checking out a couple Xtreme games this year. I'm glad I didn't buy the tickets in advance.
Ican't help but think that this sport would be better off with a couple of small regional leagues instead of continuing to try to keep this mess afloat.

OK. Have they played a "home" game since the one CAA game?
The NIFL gets away with it because (1) there's always "another" owner who thinks it can do better, and/or (2) people considering af2 end up deciding the cost to be prohibitive and the lack of control unnerving, so they use this as an ill-conceived backup plan... after all, football is football, right?

The Xtreme's first home game in their new digs is this coming weekend, I believe.
