LAKE CHARLES, La. (June 12, 2009) – Saturday’s Southern Indoor Football League game between the North Texas Crunch and Texas Pirates has been rescheduled, SIFL Director of Operations Robert Winfrey and Commissioner Dan .J Blum announced today.

``Details to finalize the new home for the Pirates will be completed early next week, so the team has asked us to reschedule this game ,’’ Winfrey said. In the meantime, this one game will not take place as scheduled.’’

``The Texas Pirates have seen many challenges in their inaugural season, but we’re confident the team’s new owners have made the right decisions to ask for a postponement,’’ Blum added.

``Rescheduling games has not been easy,’’ said Winfrey. ``With so many new teams in one season, I’m not surprised these challenges have surfaced. We will complete our full schedule as planned.’’

Week 9 of the SIFL season features the Houma Conquerors travelling to face the Acadiana Mudbugs on Saturday and the Louisiana Swashbucklers hosting the Austin Turfcats in a key game Monday night.

So the two semi pro teams could not pull off a game? They could have played it at a middle school field.

Now that the SIFL is a semi pro league (even a shabby one at that), I will not be reading or posting on this forum any longer. Just suprised Paul has not removed the SIFL from the OSC site yet.

Thank you Indoor"fan" for your decision to stop reading and posting here. Now that you have done it, Maybe a few others will follow you. This is supposed to be about football, indoor football. Having been a general manager of a true semi pro team for five years, I can absolutely state that the Southern Indoor Football League is wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy beyond semi pro football. Having worked for 2 AF2 teams , I can also tell you the Southern Indoor Football League has a way to go. For you naysayers to waste your time and ours just so you can inflate your egos by typing your diatribes to a few hundred readers , you must have a miserable life. Find something you really enjoy, and make it better. Dont come here claiming to enjoy and bring your brand of self-indulgence.
For the record, this isnt just for Indoorfan. This is for all you posters that really get carried away with yourselves.
Indoor football is like "The Good, the Bad , and the Ugly. "
Indoor football is both the good and the bad. But some of you folks, well yall are just the Ugly.
God dont like ugly, and we dont need you.

Just curious....the story says something about new owners for the Pirates. I don't remember reading anything about it...when did that happen?

Ditto to MUDBUG1's post.

These fans of other leagues have a very short memory. The AFL is (or was) the premier league in the 50 yard game, until this season. They've been around over 20 years and let the dream of the 5th major league increase their cost of business to bloat way beyond what a niche sport can afford.

The af2 is in their 10th season, does anyone remember the first year, or even the first 5 years for both of these leagues? Do you actually know how many teams have come and gone in these leagues? Didn't one of the original af2 franchises, the Quad City Steamwheelers just have to be saved by the league to just finish the 2009 season? Didn't they win a championship on proven cheating and still get to keep it?

Choose any of the ABC Indoor leagues to discuss and we can dig up some skeletons from their closet also. If you don't like the SIFL, please do move on, hating doesn't suit you well.

Jumping on the hate bandwagon and pretending other leagues are without problems or didn't have severe struggles in their early years is just uneducated babble.

That's part of the announcement we've been waiting for that was delayed.
Isn't today supposed to be the release day?
