Season predicitons

Monday: Louisiana over Austin
Next Saturday: Acadiana over Austin(i thinks its going to be a really close game, but if Austin looses to LC, then the Bugs-Cats game will be for that number 2 seed, which means the winner will host the loser in the first round)

If Austin beats the Bucs, then Austin will have sole ownership of the number one seed, no if ands or buts, even if Acadiana beats them.

So scenario 1:
Louisiana over Austin, Austin over Mudbugs in 2 weeks
Swashbuc will be at home against Houma-Texas and Acadiana will travel to Austin first round.

Scenario 2: Louisiana over Turfcats, Mudbugs over Turfcats(even though I dont see them loosing 2 weeks in a row, we shall see)
Louisiana will host Texas-Houma, and Mudbugs will host turfcats

Scenario 3: Turfcats over Swashbucklers, then I dont see the Acadiana-Austin game meaning that much, because Austin will have the #1 seed, then Austin would host Houma-Texas, and the Swashbucklers would host Acadiana.

This is not to put down Houma of course, I dont think they can get into top 3 contention unless they beat Acadiana this week. And if Houma beats Acadiana, then I might as well just erase all of this, haha.

My opinion is Scenario 2, even though Austin is going to be hard to beat after a loss, I think it will happen, meaning Louisiana and my predicted #4 seed Houma and Acadiana hosting their first playoff game against Austin. Some have already predicted this one, and so am I.
No offense to Houma, but LC will beat them and I think Acadiana will be able to beat Austin at home, setting up the fourth meeting between LC and Acadiana.

What are your thoughts

So basically, 2 games will settle the playoff picture.

I couldnt agree with you more about this still being up in the air. I think that Austin will have a tuff time with Acadiana in Lafayette, not a very "football friendly" stadium. But if Austin can handle up on them, then the playoff picture is almost set in stone. GOod luck to all, and remember that the championship comes through the Smugglers Den.

First I'd like to congratulate the Swashbucklers, they proved why they are back to back champs. They got down early and never lost focus, it looked more like and ArenaBall game than an Indoor game.

Freddie came off the bench and proved he could start for any team and threw bombs on target all night. Does anyone know if it was poor performance (I think something like 4/8 and 39 yds when the Bartie was pulled) or injury that caused the QB Change?

Who ever makes it to the championship game will have their hands full trying to keep up with the `Bucs.

So far everything seems to be in line with most preseason predictions.
1) Swashbucklers
2) Turfcats
3) Mudbugs

The only surprise so far seems to be the `Bucs aren't undefeated and blowing all teams out of the water.

The T-Cat/M-Bug game coming up will determine the #2 seed but these 3 teams are already guaranteed playoff spots. Those are the only real important games for all 3 teams. Unless something strange happens the `Bucs will get an easy first round game at home and the Cats/Bugs will meet, we just don't know in which arena yet.

I have to tell you that there is some competition in this league. Coaches who have previous NFL and AFL experience, Coaches who have coached against other coaches from the previous IFL. THis is a great league with very competitive teams jockeying for position. This is why I love football... because on any night, anything can happen.

Going to be strange to not see Louisana playing either Odessa, or Corpus Christi for the Championship!
