This coming Saturday May 23, in Ft.Wayne's Memorial Coliseum, two
playoff bound teams will meet to determine home field advantage in
the CIFL East Division post-season. The Marion Mayhem @ 7-2 will
pay a call on the Ft.Wayne Freedom. It'll be the 3rd reg. season
meeting between the 2 teams. They have split the first 2. The Free-
dom won @ home quite handily in their first meeting. The Mayhem won
in Marion in O.T. So the rubber match is upon us. Ft.Wayne could get
the upper hand, with a win. Although Marion would have to lose another
game for the Freedom to win the division out right and host a playoff
matchup between the same 2 squads. So alot is riding on Saturdays
game. Wheeling, with only 2 wins this season, and winless Miami Valley
have fallen out of playoff contention in the East.
The West Division has been dominated by the Chicago Slaughter. They
are a perfect 10-0 and have clinched the division crown and home field
advantage throughout the playoffs. 2nd place in the West is becoming
a real fight between 5-4 Wisconsin and 5-5 Rock River. Gonna get real
interesting....
