Mudbugs 37, Turfcats 29...

SIFL site already updated.

Turfcats had 22 rushing attempts. For fans who were at the game, is the SIFL more like the af2 or UIF/IFL?

It's a combination of both Indoor and Arena.

The Arena rules heavily favor the offense and restrict the defense.
Widening the LB box from sideline to sideline last season did help the D but he's still not allowed to drop behind the 5 yd box. Very little running in Arenaball unless you only need a couple of yards or to try and keep the D honest.

In the SIFL the LB can cover an eligible reciever and drop into coverage, this does open up the running game possibilities. Even the Acadiana D-Coord said they were having trouble with Austins running game and was happy every time we dropped back to pass. Of course the TurfCats QB couldn't throw worth a darn - 4 picks - YIKES - and all were his fault.

They tried to build the game to be more football instead of an air show back and forth with scores in the 60's and 70's.

To Indoor Football Guy, I believe daytonadan and I are going to be able to get it on stickam. I honestly cant promise anything this first time around but we have all of the equipment now purchased (and the camera is HD) and are going to do a dry run on Thursday night to see if we can pull it off. Be gentle though, I am an amateur at radio announcing and podcasts. It should be fun though.
