It won't matter, it will be spun as great news by the ABA no matter if it pans out or not.

IT'S TRUE IT'S TRUE!
my post at yahoo groups:
Why was there no press coverage? Damn, I'm out of it.
Just after my rant (well, like 30 minutes) I was able to catch an
interview on KATV (ABC news affiliate) with Coach Joe Harge and Kareem
Reid! At the end, they talked about their move to the NBDL and how
their record won't be "as gawdy." Awsome, but I can't believe I
didn't hear this anywhere else!
I'm still in shock and disbelief....did I miss something?

Hell, the NBDL should find a way to fit the RimRockers in the NBDL playoffs THIS year.

Ahh... nostalgic memories of this *FAKE* article...NOT REAL. THIS ARTICLE DID NOT TAKE PLACE:
LITTLE ROCK, AR (Arkansas Fake Newspaper) --- After a relatively
successful season at 28-5, the Arkansas Rimrockers are planning to
pack up their things and leave.
No, not to a different city, but to a different league: the
Continental Basketball Association, the premiere minor league
basketball franchise in the United States which primarily caters the
the Midwest.
According to the CBA and Rimrockers's front offices, the Arkansas
Rimrockers will be one of the four teams to make up the new Southern
Division of the CBA league. (The teams which currently make up the
Eastern and Western division are Great Lakes Storm, Rockford
Lightning, Gary Steelheads, Michigan Mayhem, Dakota Wizards, Sioux
Falls Skyforce, Idaho Stampede, and the Yakima Sun Kings.)
"We are very excited to have inducted the Rimrockers as part of the
CBA league," said director of franchise development Eric
Chapman. "They have a proven track record in attracting fans and
hiring great basketball players."
"We thought joining a new league was the next essential growth step
for our team," said team owner Larry Crain in the March 3rd press
conference. "We had a great experience and run with the ABA;
however, we didn't feel the ABA was, well, up to our standards."
Rimrocker coach, Joe Harge, agreed with Crain. The Rimrockers had
played a wide array of opponents, many of which played in less-than-
impressive arenas and with players at much lower skill levels.
Harge believed this step was a strategic one for the development of
the Arkansas Rimrockers.
"It will be quite refreshing," Harge said, "to play teams which are
all around the same level arena-wise and skill-wise."
The other three teams to be inducted in the Southern League of the
CBA have yet to be named. According to the CBA, they're still
searching.
"We have several teams interested in joining, and we have been
looking at several teams that appeal to us. However, we have made
no final decisions other than Arkansas," stated Chapman.

It does appear that, one again, the NBA has found a solid franchise which developed in the ABA. Some have asked why the NBA (which does own the rights to the ABA name) would tolerate the ABA. Could this be a clue?

It does appear that, one again, the NBA has found a solid franchise which developed in the ABA.
What was the first one, exactly?
Don't you dare say the Nets, Pacers, Spurs and Nuggets. This ABA isn't that ABA.
This ABA doesn't deserve any credit for that ABA. Hell, it doesn't deserve any credit for the RimRockers. The people in Arkansas pulled it off despite Joe and company.
Love this from Joe:
"We have heard the same rumors," Newman said. "If his [Crain’s] team went in another direction, that’s for him to do, but it doesn’t worry me at all. It would not even hurt us at all. It would be silly, but he has to make what he feels are good business decisions. We would not want to lose Arkansas, but we can afford to lose Arkansas."
"It would not even hurt us at all."
What an effing delusional moron. He's completely out of touch with reality.

Had it not been for the original ABA, the four teams Sam mentioned would not have come into being. If not for this ABA the RimRockers would not have come into being.
I am not arguing that the RimRockers had their (deserved) success because the ABA was of any great help but the ABA did did provide a field to plant the franchise and the (you should like this) fertilizer to grow from.
I am well award this ABA and the original ABA are seperate leagues with many differences but there are similarities.
If Arkansas does move to the NBDL, I have no boubt Joe will give that move a positive spin. Nothing he can say will make me believe that move is good for the ABA. If Joe wants to take credit for something that I believe would be VERY detrimental to the ABA... well then maybe many of us agree on more than some of you might think.

i agree with you meyes.
Little Rock wouldn't have even been considered for the NBDL. The fact that the ABA is so easy to join and Arkansas could have its own team helped prove central arkansas' potential to other leagues.

Hey Sam Hill, you state Joe Newman is out of touch with reality? Let me ask you this, what impact have you ever had on minor league hoops? Just curious. Where do you obtain the expertise any how that the NBDL, USBL,, CBA and ABA should take notice? My name is Sam Hill and I am a moron
