I thought it was discussed in other threads for other leagues that having one owner for multiple teams was not a good idea? Or is it different with a ownership group?

Pastor Watkins Back In The Game Starting With Pirates
Posted on April 10, 2009 by Dan Ryan
HOUSTON (April 10, 2009) – In an 11th hour move that will benefit the Southern Indoor Football League for a long time to come, the SIFL announced today that Pastor Andrew Watkins has formed an Limited Liability Corporation that will include the Houston-based Texas Pirates and two expansion clubs for the 2010 season.
Watkins had planned to own and operate the Houston Crusaders for the SIFL’s inaugural 2009 season, but health concerns over the holidays and early January prompted the one-year delay of the Crusaders’ launch.
However, a return to health and a continued determination to create opportunities for growth and development kept Pastor Watkins ``in the game.’’
``This is an exciting time and a testament for all those who believe in what they’re doing to endure,’’ said Watkins, the pastor of New Directions Word of Life Church in Houston. ``When the door closed on the Crusaders for 2009, another door opened.
``I've seen the positive effect of being involved in football has helped high school and college-aged athletes and I believe that the game can help all players of all ages,’’ Pastor Watkins added.
In addition to the Pirates, Watkins will oversee efforts to place an SIFL expansion team in Beaumont, Texas in 2010 along with starting the Crusaders in Houston.
``This is a great day for the Southern Indoor Football League,’’ said president Thom Hager. ``Pastor Watkins has always been an integral part of this league and it is a joy to work alongside a man with vision and perspective. Our league is stronger and wiser with his presence.
All the front office and coaching staff for the Pirates, who kick off at home April 19 against the Houma Conquerors, will remain as will the venue – the cozy Kicks Indoor Soccer Facility.
``Our current arena situation is not perfect, but it will give us the opportunity to perfect our operations for future years,’’ Pastor Watkins said.
The SIFL inaugural game is Saturday, April 18 when the Austin Turfcats host the Acadania Mudbugs.
