League Staff Writer - 3/30/2009
The West Coast Pro Basketball League announces the additional of the Beijing Aoshen Olympian franchise to begin league play in the 2009 Spring season.
BAO has been playing in the American Basketball Association since 2004. They completed the 2008-09 season with a 26-9 win-loss record; qualified for the ABA playoffs in Nashville, Tennessee and was eliminated by eventual champion, Kentucky Miners. The Olympians are most notable for sending Sun Yue to the Los Angeles Lakers this past season. Yue, the 6'9 point and big guard for the Lakers, honed his skills for BOA until getting drafted in the second round of the 2008 NBA Draft.
Beijing will play a full league schedule beginning Friday, April 3 with a home opener versus the Ventura County Jets. For further information, go to the league website: westcoastprobasketball
