View Full Version : CBA versus ABA food for thought.

Today the Orlando Magic signed the 14th player call-up of this year alone from the CBA to the NBA.
14!
According to media reports of Long Beach Jam (ABA) games and my conversations with a former ABA player, there were a few games with overall attendance just over 14 in Long Beach.
14!
The CBA, the NBDL and other minor leagues are not without fault, but the number 14 sure proves a lot in league value, some leagues good, some bad.

WOWWWWW
really, this is a stupid, sophmoric thread.
we all know the CBA is better than the ABA. Something like this doesn't deserve a thread of it's own.

Another 14!!!! johnnydr87's age and I.Q.
Listen up you little twerp. I was just giving kudos to the 14th call up of the CBA season and thought it might be a little more interesting by throwing in a little elbow jab to the ABA.
I based my post off of proven, documented fact.
On the other hand, weren't you the moron that almost was sued by an Arkansas paper for making up your little dreams for your Rimrockers and pretending to be a legitimate sportswriter?
Don't tell me what deserves it's own thread or not fool. You proved you shouldn't start any threads, so don't edit mine.
If your 2005 copy of the Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue isn't already "worn out", why don't you turn off the computer and go in your bedroom so your parents don't catch you "looking" at it.
14!

Ah, Common Sense, spoken like a true, wise adult.
Really, I was going to edit mine for being a bit to brash, but your response has caused me to keep it.
Where do I begin?
"Another 14!!!! johnnydr87's age and I.Q. "
Oh yes, back to the ad-hominem attacks are we? It's funny you should attack my IQ, especially when your writing style and scope of thought in your posts are usually pretty limited. Example: your IQ jab! Come on, if you're going to personally insult, Mr. Adult, please get creative.
"I based my post off of proven, documented fact."
I never said you didn't. I mean, I will even accept that there were never over 14 spectators at a Long Beach Jam game (even though it's likely untrue). Why I am doing this? Because your post was based on 100% fact from a secondary source about some Long Beach Jam games, that's why!
"On the other hand, weren't you the moron that almost was sued by an Arkansas paper for making up your little dreams for your Rimrockers and pretending to be a legitimate sportswriter? "
I suppose I was. I erred, I admit. With hindsight 20/20, I see it was the wrong thing to do. I was simply trying to make an interesting "what if" topic and didn't realize there were going to be repercussions.
"If your 2005 copy of the Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue isn't already "worn out", why don't you turn off the computer and go in your bedroom so your parents don't catch you "looking" at it. "
Oh, another nice jab! Damn, DAMN, nonstop! You are really good at these jabs, as evidenced by your topic post! Perhaps you should have gone into stand-up comedy instead of serving the daily soup specials at your local dinery. That way, your qualities of being idiotic, loud, rude, and annoying would have been put to use!
Ah yes, I know I went immature towards the end...but your post clearly gave me a mandate (being that you're an adult and everything).

I think the relevance here is (partially) that the ABA sometimes crows about sending players to the NBA, but there ain't no way they've had 14 guys go up. I don't think they've had 14 guys go up in the last couple of years combined.

Isn't that a given?
Who would be surprised to hear that information?
