Actually, I thought the Great Lakes Storm was the best team in the CBA. Too bad they only had six then seven players available for the playoffs. Now I have to eat crow.

This shorthanded stuff is crybaby stuff. Adversity is what the CBA is all about. Every team has injuries, loose players for different reason, you have to still lace em up, and play the games. The fact is great lakes had three chances to win one game and didn't get it done. When teddy dupay was having a career year for rockford two years ago, and went down with a knee injury and surgery right before the playoffs, Daleo never complained, rockford just lost fair and square.
Give credit to Rockford and especially Daleo. He lost Ronnie fields and brant bailey who was playing great for them to injuries, but still found a way to keep his team focused, down 2 games to none, and then win three straight. That is an amazing job regardless of the circumstances.
Daleos record: playoffs three straight years. Coach of the year his first season. All star coach twice, with a win this season (with the Gary players all starting). And now CBA east champs and now in the CBA finals!
This man continues to win wherever he coaches. And not always with the best players. that is coaching.
Its time some of you fans and agents reconize that players always excel and have their best year under Daleo. Look at Marshal Phillips, who when he played for Gary, did nothing. How about him now. Not to mention Joe crispin, lawrence nelson, snap hunter, all had career years under Daleo, but when they went other places, did not come close to the same productivity.
I think everyone has to now show him his proper respect as the best coach in the CBA!
The facts speak for themselves!!!!

not so fast, and Ken both have very good points. I'm not going to argue with either. I am more closely associated with the Western Conferance, but Russ Bergman and Chris Daleo are the best x's and o's men in the CBA. There are better organizations top to bottom, but those two put it on the line with what they have. They are both two of the classiest men you could ever meet as well.
In observation and dealings with all levels of pro basketball: NBA, CBA, NBDL, USBL and yes, even ABA. Some of the highest quality coaches come out of the CBA. It all comes from that adversity that "not so fast" talks about. The CBA has adversity, but is still legitimate developmental pro basketball and that is why Phil Jackson, George Karl, Flip Saunders, Rick Carlisle and scores of other past CBA coaches and players are head and assistant NBA coaches.
