The Bellingham Slam have a team called the Oregon Wave scheduled for one game in 2009. The IBL is trying to establish a team in Coos Bay:

To reiterate what I just posted on another thread...

Thing is, the Portland Chinooks are no longer listed on the IBL front page, and the listing says "Portland Oregon Wave". Naturally, they're saying they'll play in Beaverton, with touring games elsewhere in state.
This was supposedly announced over the weekend, and while I haven't completely scoured the sports page this week (working with Timbers to MLS stuff), I've heard nor seen anything in regard to this.

What you are basically looking at is another league owned team. You think this guy working in the league is paying that league fee to get in? I think not. And with all these teams (especially in the midwest) shutting it down ya gotta do something.
Plane travel= complete waste of money
league fee= isn't worth the refs and jerseys they give you.
Bottomline your average start up franchise is not going to generate enough revenues in this economy to cover a budget of 50 to 70k. When you cut the league fee out, dump the air travel, and reduce salaries to max 50 or 75 bucks a game. You can actually break even. Well if you sell some sponsorships and aren't one of those teams that only has 50 people show up to your game.

I was sorry to hear Brad left the Explosion Front Office I would get a lot of information from him. But this BULL CRAP on teams being owned in the League and Team owners working for the league all is fishy... Owner Nathan Mumm talked with me today as he is answering the GM phone until the new GM takes over said that he was still happy with the IBL but did not say anything about the Oregon team other then "that team is always a bit fishy"

I noticed the IBL web site article about the Portland Oregon Wave has a logo for the Oregon "Waves", not just the singular "Wave".
