Well Anthony Kyle was just released by vermont. An Rashi Johnson is still undefeated. I tried to make this point earlier, but few would listen.

Now can somebody tell me why anthony kyle was really released? his numbers were not that bad. And he played in the D-league last season and Rashi played for Rockford in the PBL.

Vermont, needs to get a a ringer player and a tough guy. I think there current players must be a little soft. In spite of that, the schedule they have the rest of the way is not that hard and they could run the table actually.

Finally, rumor has it that Buffalo is reloading. If thats true, they could be a spoiler for teams. Stay tuned!

Buffalo reloading is pointless at this point - even if they run the table they're unlikely to make the play-offs.

Anthony Kyle seemed to be a bit too free flowing to work in the Wil Voigt basketball robot system. But yeah, Vermont need a guy who can take over in the fourth and trade baskets with the other team's best player. More than anything they need a way to score of something other than jump shots.

Does anyone honestly believe at this point that Rashi Johnson is not the best PG in the PBL? (or at least playing the best of any of the PGs in the league)

I think everybody listened, except for one Vermont fan. Actually, I don't think anybody needed to listen. Rashi Johnson is putting up insane numbers running one of the top teams in the league. Anthony Kyle put up OK numbers for Vermont who is currently just over .500. It seems pretty simple to me.

From what I saw of Kyle, he was completely mediocre. I am shocked that he played in the NBADL. Is that a fact?

It is a fact. But didn't do anything there. 13 minutes per game. Not sure how.

My take on the situation is he was outplayed by John Williams and is a little too careless with the basketball for a Voigt coached team. I would agree with chris that he isn't disciplined or defensive minded enough for our team. Ultimately he was probably (I'm guessing) making too much money to be a backup pg. So we brought in a 3rd string pg and a big man with D-league experience which we needed far more than a good back up pg. We also released Brandon "Black Hole" Cole who had some good games and some stinkers. Hopefully Smith will produce more consistently and be a better post defender than Cole was.

Anthony Kyle did have pretty good (not great) numbers. This was not why he was released. It was another matter......
You are right that Buffalo is reloading, but it is too late and they are only reloading a BB gun.

Kyle was the 2nd lowest paid of the 12 regulars. Brian M is lowest and is one of the 12 regulars since Fuqua keft. Cole was released because of issues with other players, mostly Plummer.

Rashi Johnson's team is undefeated. Rashi is not playing by himself.

My official position is Buffalo will spoil someone's playoff hopes with their reloaded bb gun roster. And no ... I am not saying Buffalo will make the playoffs.

Playoffs have been out of the question for a few weeks now, we just got in a deep hole, had some bad luck and couldn't get out of it quick enough, but improvement is happening and we're awaiting one more weapon to be complete. We have a pretty tough schedule ahead, probably one of the hardest in the league this year. Could we be spoilers? Maybe... Don't overlook us just yet. I think theres weaker teams out there, just with easier schedules giving them a few wins. I'm optimistic that we will continue to improve and move foward.

It may be pointless from that perspective, but it's not when looking at the health of their franchise. Buffalo has been drawing decent crowds despite their record, but if they go 1-19, it's going to be hard to drum up support for next season. If they show that they're moving in the right direction, it'll be easier to get buy-in for the future from fans and sponsors. So, I'm happy to see they're improving their lineup.

"awaitng one more weapon" ? I didn't know that you had any exisiting "weapons". I do not know that I would use weapon and Bufflao in the same conversation.

Sweeper, this is a great analogy. It makes me think of the results that Dirty Harry got when he reloaded.;)

Well since i started this discussion, let me continue. Buffalo is awaiting the arrival of a good player, and he will help them. And he is better than anyone on most rosters in his division. And in close games which they have had, one more player can get them over the top.

I think the coach in vermont needs to lighten up, and get a star and let him play, and stop signing all these role players in hopes that they fit his system. That thinking will keep them out of the playoffs. This is pro ball, not the aba anymore. Let the players play! Micromanaging a basketball team only goes so far. Great coaches know end the end, its the players that win games not the coach!

Phil jackson has a system. run the triangle. but when kobe wants to score, he throws the triangle in the pacific ocean.

To the credit of manchester, they seem to get it. They just need to keep the roster from changing every 12 hours!

That being said, Battle creek will still win the championship, barring no serious injuries.

2 things:
1) Enough hoopla (no pun intended) about Buffalo's new player. They are in a deep hole and it is too late!!
2) Once again, the only good thing out of Battle Creek is corn flakes. These guys will get hammered by the likes of Manchester, VT and even Halifax. Let's check back in April.

...and yet, they beat Quebec City, who has beaten Manchester, Vermont, Montreal, and Halifax...

now lets see, anthony kyle was a player that battle creek had and cut and vermont signed.

So much for the Basketball wizards at vermont. They might want to eat some corn flakes. Its Brain food.

What is vermont famous for, besides arrogance?

Also, no one said buffalo was going to make the playoffs, I said they will win some games. Which they have not done this season, hopefully.

okay 12 hours are up? Who did manchester sign?

LightningMan

First off, by the standings Quebec is 3-8 so one of those four wins had to have come in a Champlain cup game that doesn't count in the standings. Next, consider that Quebec plays the other teams in its division four times. Hard to go 0-4 against everbody. Next, just because you win a game against another team doesn't mean you're a better team. Buffalo has won one game, against Wilmington. Does anyone really think they're a better team than Wilmington?

Next, Battle Creek may very well be the best team in the league, but you can't tell it by the teams they've played. Their two toughest games by team record have been Wilmington at home and Augusta at home. All their other games have been against sub .500 teams. With Millien now out of Augusta and them possibly being tossed out of the league, Battle Creek has exactly one tough game left, at Wilmington. Be careful sizing up your crown just yet.

Charles Mason. They cut PJ Young to make room for him. (Mason was released earlier in the season but is back now, I guess)

Unlike Maine, at least VT has a PBL basketball team.

I agree with you Jimmytwotimes ABAX2 is his own person and is not typical of the people of Vermont. However when I think of Vermont posters I think immediately think of him. I don't think of kinder posters such as the sweeper and Heaves Rock.

Did anyone see Rashi's stat line from last nights game? He is the league MVP hands down.

And I can't wait to say I told you so.

Also, are any other teams on the break of shutting down or being kicked out? I think there might be.
