This is a wild one; in 2004, Rage were WBA version of the Rimrockers, averaging 4000 fans a game and having best regular season record before losing in the playoff final. This edition of the Rage, however had Richard Williams (former Final Four Mississippi State coach) coaching and former MSU star Mario Austin playing, both of whom will be with Gulf Coast Bandits(in Biloxi) this year (along probably with Dontae Jones; that team should be a juggernaut).
How did Rage go down so fast?
If anything, this illustrates the Stingers should have been playing in Jackson this year, maybe with occasional games in Greenwood, but Jackson should have been the base. There is big-time support for minor league basketball there; like Little Rock, it is the equivalent of a southern version of the Northern cities where CBA does well.

"Yant is optimistic about the future of the Jackson Rage, especially the association with the newly formed Southern Basketball League which will target cities in the Midsouth Region, specifically, Monroe, LA, Baton Rouge, LA, Mobile, AL, and Meridian, MS."

Wilbur Christy, formerly of AF2, is involved with this league

Does anybody have information on the new Southern Basketball League?
