So here I am, back in Montreal for a Saturday night NHL All-Star Game skills competition.
Yeah, right. I'm probably the only person in Montreal that ISN'T going to this event. I'm instead going the other way, down to the Pierre Charbonneau Centre for the Montreal Sasquat'ch - Vermont Frost Heaves matchup.
Decided to try another local delicacy in Montreal - didn't have much luck with the smoked-meat sandwiches a few weeks ago, but this time I gave poutine a try. Poutine, in case you misinterpret it as a vulgarism, is actually french fries and cheese curd with a gravy sauce (in the case with the one I ordered, spaghetti sauce) on it. It was okay - it's probably not going to replace chicken speides from Binghamton or Yocco's Hot Dogs from Allentown as my favorite "must eat this food when I am in the area, despite any health issues that may accrue because of it" delicacy. Although if any basketball league considers adding a team in Toms River, NJ, I would be there if for no other reason than to try Rutt's Hut deep-fried "ripper" hot dogs.
But I digress...
Tomorrow the plan is to drive from Montreal down to Manchester NH for my first Millrats home game, then home to the ALB.
I'll fill everyone in tomorrow on how things went at the Charbonneau Centre.
