Probably not. Geez, another one to add to the dead list.

I think they have, I live here in Charleston, WV and I can't find out anything about them. I called the number and no one picks up. Also no media coverage. They roster was to include JR. Vanhouse and Baby Shaq from the and 1 tour. I am just a fan of bball and would like to watch them. It's like they are a ghost!

Jay sills may be able to help out the group on this question. The Bisons currently have 4 Games scheduled against the Wild so he should know if they are still alive.

The WV Wild had other obligations, the Charleston's YMCA men's league started this month. They play every Sunday...

All right, Mountaineer: what's the population of Seth, West Virginia? That's where the Wild will play Saturday afternoon at 4. Supposedly against Knoxville. At Serman High School.

This will be a great site for a game. It is a coal mining community that should come out an watch. However, I live near thier and I haven't seen any information about the game. I know the gym seats about 500, and the county really loves there basketball. If they bring any former WVU or Marshall players they could draw a decent crowd. I'm guessing 200 or more. About 4 years ago the Wild did a scrimage game at Scott High school when they were in the IBL and it drew 700.

Don't know-we'll see. Knoxville got burned last weekend and isn't sure if they want to travel or make up their losses from this past weekend. According to the Wild owner, who I spoke with this afternoon, most if not all of their home games will be played in Boone County-most at the Madison Civic Center which seats a fair amount of people if I remember correctly. Here's the press release:

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

2009 SEASON TO OPEN: TAKE TWO

After a disastrous Opening Weekend in which neither opposing team chose to show up for their games against the West Virginia Wild, the region’s minor league professional basketball team intends to do it all over again this weekend with a game against the Knoxville Thunderbolts.

“This has been a nightmare,” Wild owner Daniel Hicks stated. “The American Basketball Association’s front office didn’t jump in and make sure that as a league member we’d have teams to play that would show up. We’re very disappointed in the way this was handled as it cost us money and good will in the community. Now we’re back to square one and hopefully the league gets it right this time.”

This weekend’s game will be played at Sherman High School in Seth, West Virginia with the game Saturday afternoon against the Knoxville Thunderbolts slated to tip-off at 4 PM. Admission is only $5 for adults and the Sherman Tide will be getting a large percentage of the gate to help with their athletic programs.

“We’re looking outside the Valley for some of our sports venues,” Hicks said. “This will be the chance for places like Boone County to see exciting professional basketball and some top-notch players.”

The Wild will be led by former Kentucky Mr. Basketball and Marshall standout J.R. Vanhoose and O.J. Mayo teammate Mike Taylor. Former WVU starter Lionel Armstead will also be playing this season for the Wild. Former Carson-Newman University star Scott Williams is the hot scorer for the Thunderbolts and had 29 points in his last game.
