From an ABA player this year:

My name is xxxxxx I am looking for a job in the pbl, I am currently playing for the West Virginia Wild and I am concerned that the team may fold and when I went to the exposure camp for the bobcats I met the assistant coach XXXX and the pacers scout XXXX, XXXX said he was gonna try and find me a job in the pbl and to get out of the aba. I called my friend I went to the camp with to try and get some information and found out that he has a job in Europe coaching.

We have missed our last four games and I am trying to get a part time job and an apartment, which our owner was already supposed to have for me and my roommate xxxxx from the aba team in Georgia who left because the owner wasn't paying him. I feel great I have worked hard to get where I am and at the same time all this happens. I want to play somewhere please find me a job because the aba is not doing well,no one tells you the truth of what is going on in the aba,a lot of my friends haven’t gotten paid either, the pbl is where i think that I need to be but right now since it is so unorganized here I am stuck in Huntington, WV with 21 dollars enough money to get back home I live in xxxxxxx which is x hours away and used my moms credit card number over the phone to get a room and now I am staying at the city homless shelter and trying to get something like a telemarketing job so I can't hurt myself, I thing you could see why I am kind of frustrated. I made a bad decision to go to the aba, I need some help. Thank you.

why the ''f'' would you send something like that out to TV stations? do you really think they'd do anything with it? what's there to go to air with? you're borderline psycho and the border is skinnier than Keith Closs.

So what is your e-mail address? I can't find it through the profile section of this website.

Why would you send this to tv stations and newspapers? No one is going to pick that up, you might as well send out Gwizzlies press releases.

This letter will go to TV stations and newspapers
and then.......

what?

There is no earth-shattering news in this letter; and it's grammar issues lessen the chance it will be given even the slightest attention.

What media outlets do you plan to send it to, and what do you expect their reaction to be? And how will you send it - as an email forwarded by an anonymous source?

I don't see the point here, other than the 'writer' of this email wants someone to give him a job. So do hundreds of thousands of other people in this economy.

It’s not like Ralph Nader is going to see the letter and take action. I don’t read anywhere that he had no choice but to join an ABA team.

I can think of several thousand Circuit City employees who might write a similar letter.

I think we are missing the point here.

If A1 is to be believed..........

then, there is a young man who was promissed a salary and an apartment. But as the team is not living up to its promise, this young man is in a homeless shelter.

I know I have joked in prior posts about ABA players in homeless shelters http://zww.oursportscentral.com/boards/showthread.php?t=8278
but if A1 is to be believed then Joe needs to act now.

If true, then this is exactly why the ABA needs to be shut down. A guy in a strange town with no money and no hope of earning what is his.

If true....................

it doesnt have to be thousands of people to make a situation bad, here is one guy, down on his luck. Maybe someone will write about it maybe they wont. Maybe someone will read his letter on here and it will make a difference in their decision.

He was lied to and sold a bill of goods...hes not the first, hopefully soon, the last.
The owners and Joe are in their nice homes warm and getting fed.

There are those on here who have no compassion...they why dont you get an ABA team and do the same to other human beings since you dont care about this one poor guy.

shamefull !

You want to help the guy, Mother Teresa, send him $100, don't send his email to newspapers and TV stations.

Sam and Sweeper are right. The best I can see happening is responses out of Charleston, Huntington, and City xxxxxxxx, and the odds of that, well, shall we refer to Naked Gun?

Frank Drebin: “How’s Nordberg?”

Ed: “The doctors say that he has a 50 - 50 chance of living…although there’s only a 10 percent chance of that.”

If only Nordberg had died, Naked Gun might still get TV airplay... but I digress.

I still think Peter Lupus was a better Nordberg.
