Useless but meaningful MLS Super Draft Numbers

For what it's worth and what it means, a quick look at the MLS Super Draft numbers

of 60 players drafted today:
38 NCAA Div. I
8 NAIA
7 NCAA II
7 NCAA III

No junior college (last one picked was 2006), NCCAA, ACCA or USCAA (unless it's a secondary affiliation buried somewhere). No one straight from HS or below.

Just something to crunch on.

The real measure of MLS... since the key measurements will be against Euro football and possibly CONCACAF teams, not other American sports, is at what point the youth academies are able to produce players and make the draft irrelevant. Or, at least, maintain the draft only for college players as it is at best the second chance route.
