The Charlotte Observer is reporting that the state's attorney (or city I coudln't back into article to verify which for sure) is going to try to reclaim the $18,000+ the Carolina Thunder owe for back rent on the games they played at an arena.
I am waiting for Joe Newman to say this is a good thing and that the crack company he claims he has looking into building brand new arenas in Minneapolis and several other cities for new ABA teams will now be brought in to build a new arena for the Thunder. I mean, come on with the money saved on not paying your current venue, you could apply to building your own arena.
Now we also find out Nashville doesn't feel they are competitive enough for playoffs, so they are giving it up to another team? Wow, all I can say is wow. I am speechless, so I am waiting for Houston or anyone to please give us on shred of why this should happen.
I've said it before and I'll say it again. This is not pro basketball. This is not a professional league. Some good players and some good fans have been screwed out of hard earned money by the ABA. All fans, players, refs, front office staffers, etc. should file a suit against Joe Newman and everyone involved in this scam. It's gone beyond ridiculous.
