Well two things immediately stick out like a sore thumb...
1. 10% guaranteed return
When someone guarantees a return on investment it reeks of the tired cliche, "If it sounds too good to be true, it probable is."
2. will benefit from using our proven model.
There is no indoor league, now or that ever has been, with a "proven" model.
They ALL are/have been risky ventures to say the least. And the USIFL hasn't even played a down yet, what could possibly be "proven" with their "model" ?
That said, there are probably some folks out there with $50K or more just burning a hole in their pocket that might take the risk. More power to 'em because it will be the fans who most likely will reap the benefits of those who have the balls (and spare cash) to chase the pipe dream.

If there's anyone with $50K looking to invest in this sinkhole... well, I'm a nice guy and I'll get more done with $50K than the Outlawz. Email me. :)

Good point. This isn't about buying into a team. Buying shares in a facility is still risky, but much less so than say buying shares in an actual team. Even if the indoor team flops, there is still a building which can be used for a variety of sporting events. Its an interesting concept. When you look at Major League Soccer, the one reason they have been relatively successful is the fact that most of the teams own their facility. Its near to impossible to break even from a sports team's revenue alone, you need additional revenue streams (renting facility during offseason, etc.) and you also need full control of all revenue (concessions, ticket sales, parking, etc.). Plus you can hire year round staff that operate the facility and also work for the indoor football team. It potentially gives the team year round exposure and a stronger presence within the community. I hope it works out for them.

$6 million isn't going to buy much of an arena. Even the super-cheap dome people want between $10 and $20 million to start (for 4,000 to 5,000 seat facilility).

What's in that release that strikes you as the truth?
I'm all for peace and love, 2 cars in every garage, and nothing but sunshine and lollipops. But I'm not an ostrich hiding from reality and HOPING all is well above ground.
Less BS and more honesty would go a lot further in obtaining investors.
Howzabout, YOU fork over $50K and come back next year and tell me how that pretty new arena is coming along, what you're going to do with that extra $5K you made and I'll be more than accepting of your "I told you so's"
Hey, maybe with that guaranteed $5K you made off the arena thing you can put it towards an USIFL team purchase, it has a "proven" model y'know.
Bwahahahahaha.

blah blah blah............seems like you like the rainy days, are you sure your all about the sunshine???? Anyway, the lehigh valley has been trying to get an arena in place for some time now. There has been alot of talk about it here in the local newspapers even more so after the first season of the Ironpigs (Phillies AAA)finshed up after almost getting 10,000 fans per game.
Howzabout I don't have $50k so you won't be telling me so on anything. I'll be sure to send you some pics of the new arena once it's done, when that will be I'm not sure but you think it's not going to happen because of Jim Depaul. What's the matter did JD spank your bottom or something? The Lehigh Valley has around 900,000 residents alone...they want a arena. Have a nice day sunshine!;-)
Speaking of Ostrich,I had a ostrich burger not to long ago and it was pretty good! Try it out when you get a chance

"Division Champs in 2008"....of what league???
The CIFL's Atlantic Conference playoffs last year included the top two teams in each division playing one-another, so it's fairly prudent to consider LV's win over NE in the first round a "divisional championship."

There may be an arena in the Lehigh Valley at some point.
But this scam won't be what builds it.
As was noted before -- and will be noted over and over again -- any offering that includes the phrase "10%++ Guaranteed Return" can be safely assumed to be a scam. Especially if it's being offered on eBay.
A legitimate arena would be built through a legitimate public offering -- or by a legitimate regional authority backed by legitimate regional governments -- and not through a blue-sky throwaway posting on eBay.
Or to put it another way - Bernie Madoff offered a guaranteed return, too.

Of course, I am. I also like taking long walks, honest people, and things that smell good. What turns you on big boy?

That's all fine and dandy. But what's that got to do with JD's pitch for some poor schmuck's dough on eBay? Are you implying he'll generate enough cash to build a world class arena that's capable of accomodating a triple A team and their 10,000 doting fans?
Howzabout I don't have $50k so you won't be telling me so on anything.
Fair enough. I can now understand why you got your nose firmly entrenched in JD's buttcrack.
I'll be sure to send you some pics of the new arena once it's done,
I can only pray I live so long. Good luck.
What's the matter did JD spank your bottom or something?
Oh, be still my heart. A fella can always dream can't he? I love Jimmy. He's a clever dude and obviously wants to make his Outlawz the pride of Lehigh Valley, in spite of some of his local supporters. In fact I dare say I'm certain JD has a soft spot in his heart for me as well. But really, sometimes you just gotta call his bluff.
The Lehigh Valley has around 900,000 residents alone...they want a arena.
Goodie for you. So go try and snatch $10 from each of them and you might be able to raise a real purty barn to play in. I can see the headlines now, "Player slips on cow dung and breaks neck during Outlawz game." Bwhahahahahaha.
Speaking of Ostrich,I had a ostrich burger not to long ago and it was pretty good! Try it out when you get a chance
Nah, I'm satisfied with our US government's sanctioned animal slaughter of cows, pigs and chickens. Adventuring outside of that is just asking for trouble. Look what happened to Jeffrey Dahmer when he started sampling exotic meats. You just be careful what you're sticking in your mouth OK?

But getting the local gov't to somehow guarantee a return on private investments? Now that's the JD I've come to admire!

As they say,
Also the facility will only hold 3000+ which is a good attendance level for indoor football
How would this be better for the Outlawz than playing at Stabler Arena? Just wondering.

As they say, it is not what you know or who you know, it's what you know about who you know. lol
I wish I could do this all on my own (as most things I have been able to do in the past) but this project is just too big for little ole me to do alone. As for the proven model, just follow what affiliated baseball does with government matching funds and you have a winning formula. They prosper from local and state grant $$$, low-to-no interest loans, low rents and subsidies (typically, maintenance costs the city more than they receive in rent - unlike high-priced arena sports) . Thety actuaaly PAY (lose) money to MLB for the affiliation.
Aha, now I'm following along. I guess I was assuming you meant YOUR proven model. You sly dog you. ;)

There's potential for more control, doesn't the university own Stabler? Imagine if JD can actually get a consistent 3K to attend his football games. Fan #3001 would like to go, but oh no! No tix left. Enter standing room only and a price increase on tix that guarantee you a seat. Not to mention parking, concessions, etc. Ka-ching! Yes, it has to actually come to fruition, but a SRO crowd at a 3K arena is a nice accomplishment at this level of indoor ball.

Hey Jim with the AHL Philly Phantoms being sold and looking around the PA area (potentially LV), perhaps there can be some partnering to get a new arena built?

The posting and sales of such investment would be illegal because I would presume that the Lehigh Valley Outlawz has not filed investment papers with the SEC in all 50 states. (and I make this assumption simply based upon the fact that it costs 6+ figures to do so)
Any investment would be subject to a class action lawsuit on behalf of all investors..
While the listing is for "documents" the advertisement is an effort to obtain investors, and until the SEC papers are filed, advertisment is not allowed to begin.

Good to hear but that doesnt mean that the move isnt illegal.. Here, let me help
"Rule 504 of Regulation D
Rule 504 of Regulation D provides an exemption from the registration requirements of the federal securities laws for some companies when they offer and sell up to $1,000,000 of their securities in any 12-month period.
A company can use this exemption so long as it is not a blank check company and does not have to file reports under the Securities Exchange Act of 1934. Also, the exemption generally does not allow companies to solicit or advertise their securities to the public, and purchasers receive "restricted" securities, meaning that they may not sell the securities without registration or an applicable exemption.
Rule 504 does allow companies to sell securities that are not restricted, if one of the following circumstances is met:
The company registers the offering exclusively in one or more states that require a publicly filed registration statement and delivery of a substantive disclosure document to investors;
A company registers and sells the offering in a state that requires registration and disclosure delivery and also sells in a state without those requirements, so long as the company delivers the disclosure documents required by the state where the company registered the offering to all purchasers (including those in the state that has no such requirements); or
The company sells exclusively according to state law exemptions that permit general solicitation and advertising, so long as the company sells only to "accredited investors."
Even if a company makes a private sale where there are no specific disclosure delivery requirements, a company should take care to provide sufficient information to investors to avoid violating the antifraud provisions of the securities laws. This means that any information a company provides to investors must be free from false or misleading statements. Similarly, a company should not exclude any information if the omission makes what is provided to investors false or misleading.
While companies using the Rule 504 exemption do not have to register their securities and usually do not have to file reports with the SEC, they must file what is known as a "Form D" after they first sell their securities. Form D is a brief notice that includes the names and addresses of the company’s owners and stock promoters, but contains little other information about the company.
If you are thinking about investing in a company making a Rule 504 offering, you should access EDGAR Company Search to determine whether the company has filed Form D. If the company has filed a Form D, you can request a copy. If the company has not filed a Form D, this should alert you that the company might not be in compliance with the federal securities laws.
You should always check with your state securities regulator to see if it has more information about the company and the people behind it. Be sure to ask whether your state regulator has cleared the offering for sale in your state. You can get the address and telephone number for your state securities regulator by calling the North American Securities Administrators Association at (202) 737-0900 or by visiting its website. You’ll also find this information in the state government section of your local phone book.
For more information about the SEC’s registration requirements and common exemptions, read our brochure, Q&A: Small Business & the SEC."
