Excellent Head Coach Available
January 5, 2009 - American Basketball Association (ABA) Texas Fuel
San Antonio, TX. Former founder/CEO and Head Coach, Benjamin Mireles, of the ABA South Texas Showboats, now the #3 ranked Texas Fuel, is interested in another head coaching position. "Ben has a passion for coaching," said ABA CEO Joe Newman. "And he has built a reputation for bringing in solid teams. The ownership role is something that he was not ready to do at the time, but there's no doubt about it, he can coach."
"It was hard to let go of something I worked really hard to do," stated Mireles. "But with the addition to my family (11 week old daughter), owning the team and coaching, it was a little more than I wanted to do - and at heart, I'm a head coach through and through. I would like to find a full-time position as a coach and I know that I have the experience and knowledge the bring in a championship caliber team, just like the Showboats (now the Fuel)."
If you are looking for a winning coach - a coach with a commitment to professional basketball at its best - who brought strength, talent and expertise along with hard work, passion and dedication, contact Ben Mireles at coachb_showboats08@yahoo.com. Or visit www.abalive.com.
So a guy who has less than 2 months as an ABA coach/owner on his resume "has built a reputation for bringing in solid teams" according to Joe?
Didn't Mireles willingly step down from both jobs? If he just wanted to coach, why not stay on with the 'Boats after the ownership transfer?
I'm sure that having Joe Newman as a reference - and a spokesman for his job search - will be an asset for potential employers...
