I had a phone call a few weeks back and the person on the other line stated and I quote" we didn't do a good job when looking into the back ground of Todd Ellis" And now this shows up in my e mail from someone, I wonder if it might be the same person who is the OWNER of 1 of the CIFL TEAMS? Way to go Jeff and Eric, How long before the Huntington paper breaks THIS story, and is there more to it?

He's supposed to be a role model for kids. But deputies say he is a drug dealer.
West Virginia Wild semi-pro basketball player Daniel Andrew Hicks was arrested March 25th in Teays Valley by Putnam County Deputy Sheriff G. Martin after a "routine traffic stop."

However, Dep. Martin reports finding two pounds of marijuana in Hicks' car. Now the hoops player is facing a felony charge of possession with intent to distribute.

After his arrest, Hicks, 34, of South Charleston,
appeared before Putnam County Magistrate Kim M. Blair. She set Hicks' bond at $35,000.

Hicks was then transported to the Western Regional Jail and Correctional Facility in Barboursville. Officials booked and photographed him at 4:25 p.m., according to the jail's web site.

Hicks' case number is: 08F-105. His jersey number is 13. You know what they say about unlucky number 13. Hicks certainly does.

Sounds like he's a good businessman.
Knows his market and where to find potential customers.
Lord knows the CIFL needs more people with better business sense.
Only drawback is he got caught.

Considering you loved that Faith football fans cheering on the bad

gets his second chance. Shame on you.

We do? Why stop at 2 then? Howzabout a 3rd and 4th chance?
When does it end? At the point of a lethal injection insertion?

Nah. My convictions are still steadfast. If you are going to do the
crime the first time be prepared to do the time and face your shame
forever... or simply don't get caught.

Our friend Char seems to think publically shaming someone is fine
and dandy in a thread he creates but with an unadulterated
hypocrisy applauds a three hour lovefest for a bus load of jailbirds.
Waivering on a fence is a pathetic way to go through life, unless
of course politics is one's ambition.

of course politics is one's ambition. Politics, A good idea, yes indeed. You know we need a new Govoner here in Illinois, why not. And yes he is inocent until proven guilty, but having 2 elbows of weed in your car and being caught is NOT a good thing, trying to help at risk kids and a DRUG free inviroment. What do you call that? I am not shaming him. He shamed himself, if infact this is him and it is true. And #2 those other ones are Kids that need to be led down the right path in life, what BRUISER,,,, would you think if this dope was for those so-called kids that they were working with, and if YOU had a kid that made a mistake wouldn't you want to try and turn their life around. 1 has nothing to do with another here, except he was working with kids and preaching 1 thing and doing another. I hope this IS NOT the new CIFL owner from WV, god knows they dont need any new BAD things coming up after losing 5 teams and the Mike Johnson thing still in play regarding,, (Wire Fraud) and passing BAD CHECKS and whatever else is still out there. Hell I was one of the first to say welcome to the CIFL, but when someone sends you this kind of info and they have the same name and B-Ball team named the Wild, and from the same city. What do you think?

I grew up in that general area (River Park). Went to Gordon Tech where my fondest memories are of the brothers making us kneel on our fingers and slamming locker doors on our heads. Good times (not). So forgive me if I say I haven't been around there for ages.

I'm up north about 50 miles and plan to stay here tonight. Have fun and be safe.

Slaughter games are always a good choice for hooking up with yours truly though.
Hope to see you there.

If Huntington has the dough, then they can play whoever they want.
What is this? Char's Gestapo Witch Hunt where only you decide who
is worthy to join a league that you consistently badmouth?

It's very simple. The Spit's shouldn't interfere in individual team roster
selection... unless the league pulls an af2 and starts allocating AND
paying the hired help. If the dude paid his debt to society, who cares?
If he's awaiting sentancing, the courts will take care of him.

The CIFL is on no one's moral radar but the few dozen who bother to
visit the message boards. With all the crap the CIFL has survived over
the past three years this is child's play. ie. not worth even your
scrutiny.

Don't know why you have this insatiable desire to nitpick but
I'm sure your mom or significant other is insanely giddy that
you do it here and not at home... oh my god, what if you
are like this in the real world? Aaaagghhhhh.

Ok, so what about the crap, brought on by the league office or not cleaned up by them, Thats why all these problems. Why dont they take care of them, 1st off by doing back ground checks on THESE people, and I know they didnt for this guy, because they Jeff and Eric were just this past week trying to look into his past. A little late dont you think? What happens when the NEWSPAPER looks into this? They are going to tear the Canabis I F L a new one or at least the Huntington team. And if they look into MJ there in K-Zoo also, just more to screw with. They seem to try to do the right thing but end up shooting themselves in the foot, What they need to do is find people WHO can run the league the way the A2, UIF and the IFL was run, everybody got paid there and still do because the OWNERS have Money to run teams, not pretenders. Do you think the players from Milwaukee WILL get paid this year and If so why didnt they get paid last yr? Just answer that 1 plz.

Indoorfootballguy

Not everyone got paid in the UIF.

And why would a experienced guy like LeRoy McFadden be the Head Coach and the good experienced players there signing go to the Bonecrushers if they were not going to get paid?

I didn't say they were not going to get paid, I said they Dint last year, And if Leroy new about what happened last year he might be desperate, I dont know, Like I said in the past I HOPE they have gotten their Sh*t together, and if they can run thier team for less than 475K unlike the Iron they might have a chance, I mean the Bonecrushers did run for less last yr, hell Alot of bills still not paid( A lean on th Turf) to name just 1 and players being givin their eqpt as payment at the end of the season, or maybe they the players just KEPT it as some sort of payment, But back to the WV team, Do you think if Jand E checked this guy out and found he had a FELONY Drug charge over his head they would have let him in? If yes means desperate for owners and if NO, to STUPID to do back ground check , which means they have no business running the league, Look at Ft Wayne, Flint, K-Zoo and now WV Wild, And they wanted 50K for someone like JD who DOES pay his bills, but also tells them when they are screwing up, 50K to get back in the LEAGUE. How many teams actually PAID their DUES this past yr, or paid a franchise fee from this yr. Thats what I thought. AND NOW SOMEONE or SOMEBODY NEEDS 20K to defend themselves in FEDERAL COURT, If I was a betting man, I would say that J and E dont show up in FEDERAL court with out a lawyer, WHY. BECAUSE they need 1 here. All they had to do is settle this and it would all be over, NOW, the lawyer alone in going to be 20K, also while on a phone call a few weeks back you could hear someone in the BACK GROUND, fom the City of CHICAGO saying (we just need to figure out how to split up the money) and it wasn't the Govoner Bloygoavich

Bottom line is there are still players coming back for more. So if what you say is true it must not be for the money. And if that's the case, I will ALWAYS be glad to buy a ticket and watch someone give a 100% just because they love to play.

What's funny is that all this drama doesn't matter to most fans. I used to think it was a shame the AFL screwed the pooch, but in the end it just doesn't matter. People will simply shrug their shoulders and find some other league or entertainment to piss away their idle time.

So do whatever makes you get up in the morning, I'm sure all of us fans and players are tickled silly to know we have our very own caped crusader looking out for us.

Your welcome, and the reason I am PISSED at the Bonecrushers is I sent a few players there and when they call asking what did I do to them sending them tp play for an group of MORONS that dont have any money, what am I to say to them? And we will see HOW many of them return for the season. Still watching out for all football fans, and going to keep my cape under my shirt for the year, but just 1 more

I certainly wouldn't want any of that sorry bunch back. They only won one game fercrissakes, but they'll sure give you a ton of excuses why it's someone elses fault... sorta like you just did.

Shoot, if I were MKE management I'd lose all of last year's "players", tell you to keep your boys and when they can actually learn how to play indoor ball... um... don't call us, we'll call you.

LMAO, no the 2 letf after the first fiasco, and saw that 1 of the OWNERS wanted to be a starter when he shouldn't even been in uniform, remember that one. I own the team so I will play. I really do hope they have the money to play out the season. It will show that you can run a team for less than the 700K it is going to cost to run the Iron.
