Okay, at first I said that jumping into the ABA was bad. Then after I saw games being played I changed my mind. The CBA was staying alive, the product was being introduced to other areas, the CBA was going forward. But after I saw the Kentucky score and beating that team by 100 points, I am changing my mind again. This wasa rec league game. The CBA is not gaining any credibility when it coems to games like this. This was a farce and it is a shame that records are being broken. I have changed my mind- stop the madness.

I still can't get over the fact they won by a freaking hundred points. I honestly thought it was a typo.

Man alive, this keeps getting worse by the second.

Oh big deal. I seem to recall the Detroit Panthers beating the Toledo whatever they were's 191-66 a couple of years ago. That's at least a 125-point victory.

I love it, the ABA sucks and history should show it. The Coal Miners should have sat the starters, but if the 2nd team can score 45 per qt. Let em, the ABA teams should have signed better talent for the month of december.

This is probably why the LFS Cavs didn't want to play games vs. the ABA.
What good does it do. Yeah, bring a team in that nobody has even heard of and win the game by 100, wow...

The only good that can come out of something like that is the fact that the players get a work out and depending on how many people show up, make some cash for the owners as long as the rent for facility isn't to high.

That last sentence pretty sums up why there are professional games so you answered your own question.

I was being sarcastic...

I just don't see anything good coming good out of the games vs. the ABA.

Maybe it's an audition for ABA teams to join the CBA down the road?

I agree. I watched a now PBL team get defeated by over 40 points. It could have easily been by over 100 points because it was garbage time after halftime. It's all good if the fans return.

Personally, I find large margin victories boring (unless it's a game to determine a playoff position or something) however.

May 23, 2008. Battle Creek lost to Gary by actually, 53 points. The game was not really THAT close. Could have easily been a 100 point victory.

As I thought: you watched an IBL team get beaten. Thanks.

It's the same Battle Creek organization regardless of the league.

Agreed. I simply didn't remember any blowouts of that nature in the PBL last season that didn't involve the Travelers.

who are the travelers? I did not follow the PBL closely last year and do not remember their name when I did check the standings. were they a travel-only team (assumption from the name)?

Yes they were...

The Travelers were put together to fill holes in the PBL schedule.

This, of course, gave Joe Newman the idea that if one travel team is good for a league, more would be better -

- resulting in approximately 75 travel teams for this year's ABA schedule (give or take)

Not only that, but he sent the entire league traveling to the CBA for good measure.
