What happened to the Detrpoit franchise of the ABA? Seems to have changed owners, but the standings only show them playing like 10 games so far? Also the email address seems not to be valid?

Huh. That's odd.

Certainly it wouldn't be because the team ceased to function, would it? Naw, these are "great owners" who want to bring the ABA product of exciting fan-friendly, family-affordable basketball to Detroit, which is a great market we've been wanting to get back to for some time."

And blah blah blah blah blah....

They actually do seem to play occasionally, but in no relation to the actual schedule. They appear to be a road team in this edition. The Motown Jammers never played a road game and the Detoit Wheels never played a home game. Very "Jack Sprat".

"The Motown Jammers could play no away,
The Detroit Wheels could play no home.
Between the two they are a freakin' joke."

Ya, I know it doesn't rhyme but, then again, what else associated with this league has turned out the way it should. I think my nursery rhyme fits in just right.

I'm guessing they don't have a home, unless they can slip an inner city elementary school janitor a few bones to open up the doors for a few hours. I was among the almost 200 loud (as the Jammers lied and called us) fans at the inaugural game. I can't imagine what the crowd would be like if they actually came back now. Is it possible for the attendance to be a negative number? At least the Jammers put out a (very) occasional press release or interview full of lies. The Wheels don't even do that. They should have re-named the team the "Ghosts", as they are invisible to 99.999999999% of the world. The league and especially this team are a freakin' joke.

Newman stated, "We're fortunate to have two very strong individuals at the helm there and are confident that they'll put together a first-class operation and team. Detroit is an important part of the league and we are pleased that we can move forward there."

Crazy Joe has his rug glued on a little too tight.

According to Joubert, "Detroit has been an integral part of the ABA since it was re-established in 2000. We felt very strongly that the city should be represented in the league - and that it deserves a high-quality organization. Chris and I are working hard to do just that and appreciate the ABA's willingness to work with us. We have a lot of catching up to do, a lot of games to play - but I think people will be very pleasantly surprised. We're practicing and we should be ready to go this weekend."

Well, I stand corrected, they did lie here.

Like I said, a freakin' joke. :x
