The WBA has been extremely quiet for quite a few months now.

R.I.P. ?

If they don't return ...

What NEXT league will arrive on the scene?

Somebody needs to start a Southeastern League.

usbaball.com ... I know nothing about this league. It may be a success or may never get off the ground.

Not wishing bad on them, but I seriously doubt they will ever get off the ground.

Uh-huh...I think it's long established to readers on this board the USBA is a complete joke.

As to the REAL topic at hand, I haven't heard anything about the WBA and unless they can prove otherwise, I think they are done.

The sad reality is the WBA is a joke as well. Some talent, usually good ball ... but about as organized as any ABA team suspending operations for a third time. There is a real need for a viable Spring/Summer in the South.

From a recent WBA web site visit, it looks like the WBA is in the planning stages for a 2009 season. The list of teams for 2009 has some changes with tryouts this month and a draft in the near future.

The tryout is in April. I can confirm they are trying to get a team or two in a city not listed on the homepage, and the team in Wise, VA, is gone and the team in Wilson, NC, won't happen. Also, supposedly they will change the homepage shortly and they got a new web designer.
