The guy could at least have said "Thank You" rather than what he did say:

Carter spent last season managing the Orange County Flyers to a Golden Baseball League title. The Flyers' home field was the Cal State-Fullerton baseball stadium, and the GBL is several notches below even the Ducks' Atlantic League.

"I'm going to appreciate this even more now," Carter said. "This is a big-league stadium compared to where I was last year. I'm going to enjoy having my own office, which I didn't have last year."

I don't think that was a diss. The GBL is what it is, we can't get mad for someone pointing it out. We seem to be moving in the right direction, but there's no way we can compare our facilities to those of most other leagues.

1) The Duck's stadium is really first class throughout. It is better than any AA stadium I have been in and is as good as some AAA stadiums.

2) Gary Carter has never met a microphone that he didn't like. Maybe he will be a good manager here, but I have always thought of him as a bit of a blowhard.

It's definitely not a diss on the OC Flyers. Shoot, they won a championship. But, he is right, there are no offices and the locker rooms were pretty cramped for a full roster team. The players lounge upstairs seemed to be nicer than where the coaches had to reside. But, that's just the bi-product of having to use college fields, which are not fully equipped to meet a minor league venue.

TK had an office at state, but it was a small four walled office with a door, where his voice echoed should he ever need to use it...and there were a few times he needed to......haha! Anyone see where TK was appointed officially as the Padres AA affiliate manager in San Antonio? Pretty cool, damn happy for him...

An interesting thought...

What is going to happen with the Flyers?

Carter and Evans, both moving on, and I can only assume that Dipace may follow Evans. They're basically family. Not, knowing for sure about Dipace, as I have not spoken with him since during the season.

Professional sports, in general, is such a revolving door...

It's good to see Evans getting another head gig in the league. I know fans in LB will enjoy seeing him when the Seals visit Blair Field. That definitely does put OC into an interesting manager search.

Here's a thought... what about the return of Garry Templeton? eh? anybody? anybody? He was pretty cool.

And, if birds had radios in their butts, there'd be music in the air...
