I love the fact that league information is coming out of Fairbanks, Alaska -- the IFL's most remote location -- instead of the home city of Richmond. It just goes to show that you really don't need to have a bricks-and-mortar office building and league PR can be based anywhere.

The problem with info coming from Fairbanks is nothing is "hot off the press."

The more things change, the more they stay the same it seems

Ladies and Gentlemen and Message Board Denizens, give it up for Sportznut, who single-handedly kept the Intense Football League going from day-to-day on a stipend less than what Kathy Lee Gifford paid at one of her sweat shops only to be left out when the Indoor Football League decided it was best to put a bricks and mortar office in a city far away from both Sportznut's family as well as any league team.
The efforts of Sportznut in 2008 represents everything that is right with the sport, alas, those in charge have done him wrong.
Salute!

I'll give Robert credit for being a great PR guy and getting the news about the league out to the public in a timely manner. But he was hardly responsible for keeping the league going.

I beg to differ. And so would many of the Intense Football League coaches, players and staff.
How's it going getting new turf for Odessa? I'm sure you're going to get a new playing surface since the current one is borderline dangerous. Indeed, you are a true indoor football professional who puts the well-being of the players as a top priority.
BTW, great hire with Barney. His experience at CenTex will make him a strong employee for you.

I never claimed to be responsible for keeping the league going. I also did A LOT more then just PR guy for the Intense League. Lets see, your team was trying to get a player off another teams refused to report list, and i spent DAYS dealing with the situation.. and the player ended up on your roster. When the player and teams got a hold of CC office, they were told to contact me. just saying

I agree, as I'm sure most everyone else does as well. This is the internet age, no real need for that at all. The commish being well away from all the league cities also shows that you don't need to be close by to get things done.

Kind of an odd day to release a schedule? I mean releasing it on the weekend means no press coverage with College Football and NFL going on..
But hey, what do i know, right?
Santana, site looks great and.... i guess, way to go scooping the league on information, your site hits must have went up dramatically

The schedule will not be out on Saturday. The first draft of the schedule will go out to the owners sometime on Friday. The official schedule will be released sometime before the end of November.

Thanks, I saw this on another site;
The CenTex Barracudas apparently folded on 7 November 2008.
Along with Lehigh Valley's departure, the IFL is left with 21 teams for 2009.
So far there is no press release from the CenTex Barracudas or the IFL on their folding, however on the Fairbanks Grizzlies site the Barracudas are left out of the league's divisional alignment: http://www.hometeamsonline.com/teams/def....FL%2 0Divisions and league team listing: http://www.hometeamsonline.com/teams/def....me=IFL%2 0TEAMS
